  • "Categorize experience"? That kinda sounds like that generalization I was talking about, which is not what this is here. It's a simple matter of "people in this group have a higher likelihood of exhibiting this behavior than people of other groups". Simple observation. It's not saying that only people in this group exhibit it, or even that all people in this group exhibit it. Just that more do. It's not even necessarily claiming direct causation. Maybe people in that group have experiences that make them more likely to exhibit that behavior, so that would make it environmental. But the cause is another discussion.

As for "look for problems at an individual rather than systemic level", I'm afraid that I don't know what you mean here. I wasn't talking about any problems. Are you referring to the injustices themselves maybe? Because that's a whole other discussion too. I'm talking about psychology, not politics or economics. (And while it's not relevant, yes, I am acting on it, and far more systemically than most people.)

  • I wasn't trying to dismiss anything. Just pointing out that it's a commonly observed trait in ADHD people. It's a scientific perspective to notice that people with certain neurologies tend to exhibit certain behaviors more often than people with other neurologies. It's not stigmatizing unless you are both generalizing and value judging.

  • The inspiration for Rampage perhaps? 🤔

  • That's me too, an effect of Justice Sensitivity, a common trait among both ADHD and autistic people. Before I knew that I was both, I used to tell people that I was allergic to advertising, to convey my feelings about it.

  • My suspicion is that it's not so much age as the cumulative effects of cptsd. Life in this world just keeps grinding most of us down.

  • That only works if it was 150 people per year for each of those 7 years. I read it as 150 people total, making the time irrelevant. Unless you are talking about how much was paid out of a budget each year. Was your "each" per person or per year?

  • Sure I may have used Windows in the past, but now I wash my hands of it.

  • I tried, but their website wouldn't accept my information for some reason. Tried a couple times, tried different browsers, even tried the provincial site, nothing.

  • Looks good, but missing Friendica.

  • I wonder if this counts: I don't like the look of some things because my mind instantly imagines how it would feel, so if I wouldn't like the texture, I don't like looking at it because it gives me the same unpleasant feeling. Sounds like a synesthesia.

  • Ugh. I'm not even supposed to be here today.

  • Chomp

    Jump
  • Me too. I didn't know that skin cremes could make dragons. 😲

    😛

  • Going to see a doctor in an hour to see if they will be my regular/"family" doctor. Here's hoping that they are neuro-affirming because getting diagnosed is an important conversation I need to have right now. 🤞

(And of course it's the coldest day of the week (-20/-25 c) and I have to walk there. 🥶)

  • I learned to embrace my weird in my teens. Of course, it's a lot easier when you have others to be weird with, and I was very lucky with that back then. Lately, I haven't been as lucky.

  • I wouldn't know how to get this going, but I very much enjoyed reading it and your comments and think that it looks like a great project. 👍

(I mean, as a fellow autist I might be able to hyperfocus on it for a while, but I'm sure that the ADHD would keep me from finishing to go work on something else. 🙃)

  • I think that this is likely just how politics is done now. On one hand you have a guy that will keep giving the elites what they want. On the other, you have a complete wackadoo that'll scare the voters into picking the first guy. It's like voting with a gun to your head.

As a bonus, if on the off chance people do end up voting for the wackadoo, well then it's party time. We have plenty of current examples of that.

  • I haven't because I don't know if there is even a point, since afaik they don't actually delete anything, they just keep you from accessing it, and keep adding to it anything other people post about you.

  • Sunday is ttrpg day for me. Today I'm running Vampire: The Masquerade (V20/V5 + house rules hybrid I call V25; also apropos since the game started in Jan 2025). In the wake of last game's politcal/economic problems (that's right, I managed to inject economics into my vampire game, and in a way that is not as boring as it may sound), today the group will be discovering more about the (literally) dark secrets held by the NPC member of their group.
