  • Hey, I'm sorry it took me a while to get to this, but I really appreciate the comment! And no, I don't think you were implying anything, I was just trying to contribute something helpful. :)

Your sincerity and compassion is a light in these dark days, and reading your words from across the world really lifted my spirits.

I'm not currently in a state that's being invaded or occupied right now, but it's still scary, and we're constantly bracing for the next insane, stupid thing that's going to happen next. It does hurt when it seems like others across the world (with their own petty wannabe-autocrats) are jeering for everything to collapse here, without thinking of all the people here they'd gladly share a beer with.

Like they've just written us off, even when millions are protesting and helping immigrants and even just struggling to get by as everything gets shittier.

Thank you for the really kind words and sincerity. I hope wherever you are, you and yours are safe and happy and healthy.

  • So does our Colombian red tail boa! :D

EDIT: That's just a little heat coil with a fan though in the cold months. Be very careful and research heavily before blasting IR light at reptiles!

  • Absolutely bonkers, given a commandment against idolatry and Jesus' own words that oaths are foolish and come from a bad place.

Like, imagine reading the source material.

  • Ah I see what you're saying.

Thanks for taking the time for the clarification! I'm sure this would clear it up for some other folks as well.

I also know they're a fraction of the size of those giants who can probably field staff specifically for FOSS contribution, but that's still a bit disheartening. I hope things improve.

Every time they've seemed like a good option I find myself balking at the price though lol.

  • "Hahaha yeah your state SUCKS, man!"

--Billy JimBob from like, Ohio, probably :p

  • With any luck of history rhyming, the Allies should have the bunker surrounded before he gets the chance.

  • in group text chats

    Or multiplayer lobbies. :(

  • more occurrences than all the other countries on the respective lists combined. WTF?

Just in the interest of clarity, depending on the data and how the studies are done etc...

The U.S tends to have more occurrences of almost everything compared to a lot of European neighbors because it's so HUGE both in population and sheer landmass.

Even adjusted, some of our stats are still alarmingly high, but I wanted to make sure this aspect was considered.

  • Yeah, there's billions, maybe trillions or beyond, of dollars' worth of investment put into making sure everyone "Really needs this job." which can be ripped away from them in an instant, so they won't be inclined to risk any "insubordination."

  • Yep! Form follows function, hence, I need my pockets. XD

  • This is an absolutely hilarious episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Worth a watch! :D

  • I don't blame you. I'm even tempted to get a Quest-something unit secondhand or something, if only because I'm pretty sure they've cracked it a bit better on the Linux side.

They're making some progress on WMR's controllers right now but they're the most troublesome. Hand tracking works now! But a lot of games expect button input.

Seriously, we just need a good code leak or something so that hobbyist VR peripherals become more commonplace. Right now everything is focused on establishing lock-in to walled gardens instead of interoperability.

VR hardware should be just like getting a monitor / keyboard / mouse / flight stick / whatever, but they want to make it closer to a smart TV / phone so they can push you to throw it out and buy a new one every 6 months.

  • I dunno why, but I read this entire thing in Danny Devito's voice and that was pretty funny. XD

  • We should get a committee together to go knock on his door and remind him of this.

  • It got dissed.

What it did to deserve that, we might never know. . .

  • BigSkreen

  • Don't worry, a not-insignificant number of users probably use "Forgot Password?" every time because they can't keep track of the correct one. Lol

I suspect this is why we started to see all those "use a temporary password instead" options lately. XD

  • It's the "You aren't allowed to stop and rest and your feet are pounding a ground that is rigid concrete with absolutely zero give" that gets ya. =\

  • Just like they did with their Ashley Madison accounts.
