  • If I'm understanding your comment correctly we're more or less on the same page.

My question is not a literal question but me pointing out the paradox sucking up to Israel to "win the election" and then blaming pro-palestine voters after they lose the election.

  • Ok you go say that to their faces. Tell them they should suck it up and vote for an administration that is funding a genocide against their people. Tell them they're being "idealistic" when they speak out against a genocide.

    Liberals are amazing.

  • You're doing the exact same thing. You are refusing to acknowledge any criticism to the Harris campaign and blaming voters for the loss.

Misogyny absolutely played a role in this election and I do not want to downplay the racism and misogyny that Harris had to work against, but she ran a fucking awful campaign. She sucked up to fascists, ignored her base, and belittled the concerns pro-palestine protestors.

    I'm speaking now.

  • I'm not American and you didn't answer my question.

If pro-palestinian one issue voters lost Kamala the election, why didn't she appease them? Why are the voters to blame and not the democrats?

  • sick bro

  • Downvotes on this comment are delusional.

The only candidate in this election with a positive approval rating was the progressive guy (Tim Walz). Bernie Sanders and AOC are two of the most popular politicians around right now and both of them are very progressive. Obama won a historic election by running a progressive campaign. Andy Beshear won the gubernatorial election in fucking Kentucky with a pro-trans progressive message and is an extremely popular governor.

Liberals refuse to even pay lip service to the idea that regular people support progressive policy.

  • What are you saying then?

  • I think leftists in Canada need to actively court the right.

Not in the way the democrats did by actively pivoting right, but by acknowledging their concerns, validating their beliefs that the liberals fucking suck, and trying to direct their frustration towards actual solutions, not a nazi like PP.

idk. It seems fucking stupid but I don't know what other hope we have.

  • Also, "most lethal military in the world".

  • I'm not commenting on the ethics of voting for Harris. I'm commenting on the hordes of people on lemmy and other social networks who were actively insulting anyone who expressed uncertainty in voting for Kamala. Actively insulting people who want to be on your side but are finding it difficult to support someone who is part of an administration that is actively funding a genocide.

Those people, in my opinion, pushed voters away by completely ignoring their concerns and telling them they are fucking stupid if they don't vote democrat. It's a brain dead strategy and mirrors the democrats campaign strategy, which categorically failed.

  • If Kamala lost the election because she wasn't in support of Palestine then why didn't she just support Palestine?

  • Been saying this the whole time. Libs were shaming and harassing undecided voters for weeks instead of acknowledging that the dems were running a god awful campaign and pivoting towards nazi policies.

  • A wet towel would have performed better than Biden.

  • Hopefully this election interference situation blows up in PPs face and the cons collapse.

I feel dirty hoping for such an outcome but it feels hopeless when someone like PP, who is obviously making a cynical power grab, has so much popularity. Canada is infested with fascists just like the US and I'm getting pretty worried about the future of humanity.

  • Trump won because Harris ran a dog shit campaign.

  • Yup. If she ran a magnificent campaign she would have won.

I was arguing with my buddy about this last night. He kept saying that she had to pivot right to have any chance of winning the election. Me pointing out that she performed terribly in the election didn't matter to him. In his eyes shes did everything right and the voters are to blame I guess?

  • bruh's out here advocating for genocide

  • $554 a month at 5% growth is $440k after 30 years. So yeah not millions.
