  • Romania is easily explained with the fact that a lot of it is rural and basically everyone living in a village has a cat. There are also stray city cats that people feed that they might consider as theirs.

Turkey and Greece are a bit more surprising to me. I guess people don't consider stray cats theirs even if they feed them.

  • I've never rarely ever had that except one or two games in the last 15 years...

  • Yup. I know exactly what you mean. I bought Nobody Wants to Die, which is rated platinum on protondb, and it just crashes within 1 second of startup for me. 3h of fucking around with proton versions, launch arguments, even tried lutris, nothing. The only error I could see took me to a stackoverflow thread about vga to dvi adapter issues and the fix was not relevant. My protontricks is apparently also broken which I have no idea why or when it broke.

I got it refunded, it is what it is. I'll look into fixing my protontricks when I have more time...

  • I've never had a problem with the lack of a pause button. A lot of other things could be a lot better before that. Elden Ring is my favorite game but it's ok to criticize the bad UX, terrible m+k controls, one or more bosses cheating at the game (see Malenia's stagger), bad multiplayer mechanics, etc. I will say though that there is no reason for there not to be a pause button. You can already pause by opening a certain menu tooltip so it's clearly possible.

  • The people don't really do that. A move needs to start from the mods, whether it's because they want to move or because they did something to piss everybody off.

  • Several people have already raised concerns with the fact that they got banned from several unrelated .ml communities by the same mod for breaking the rules in one community. There are several topics with broad appeal that have their largest community on .ml. Switching instances is basically the same as making another account because you're still subject to the .ml moderation.

  • Romania built a modern waste management facility some years ago and it was opened with some fanfare. There's an investigative reporting doc on it that shows that garbage is just being dumped in a trash heap for various reasons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHgwT-F05J4

This is nice, but I'll believe it when I see it and if it turns out to be a scam or otherwise mismanaged I won't be surprised.

    To note, I am Romanian.

  • Probably, yeah. Felt so it's soft and doesn't scratch, a small piece so it doesn't stop the case from closing, double sided tape so it sits still.

  • Hmmm... Would a piece of felt with double sided tape inside the case be enough to stop it spinning without scratching it?

  • It's the players who are wrong.

    /s ofc

  • Fair enough, that could be the case. Some generic blocking setting. In that case others in this thread have given good technical suggestions.

  • Don't, unless you don't mind losing your job. They did it because they noticed people were watching stuff at work and they don't want you to do it.

  • Holy shit the comments on that video are pure cancer.

  • If I'm picturing anything, I usually go for 1 or 2. The difference might be in the amount of time I do it. I can just do it quick, then remember it.

  • Yes

  • Thank you, I feel blessed

  • I'm not saying you should buy a refurbished one, I'm saying I couldn't buy a new one locally because it's not in stock. Have you tried other laptops?

  • Have you checked out any other thinkpad? I'm not in Slovenia but my local price comparison website only shows upgrades for this one in stock, and the laptop itself only from a refurbishing place. Maybe this thing is just out of stock.
