It was more "we won't have anyone to run the arms of government/teach/administer various agencies, and we don't want to import talent from our nations to fill the gap while we find and train people as administrators etc".
Slow trains here in the US generally don't go over 50, and the rails in a lot of the network don't support over 30MPH. Additionally, rail traffic gets prioritized to freight, because we don't actually do PST (Precision Scheduled Timetables), so you might be waiting for hours on a stopped train so a freight train 10 miles up can unload.
That's my point. He is enough of a fan to know the connotation. He knows what the name implies, and company names are a deliberate choice that imply things about that company.
While this is true, job opportunities for remote markets are drying up. Those markets in rural areas went big because everyone was working remote, and you can do that from anywhere with an Internet connection. Now that everyone is being forced into RTOing, people are selling those nice little rural homes to move back into apartments in the city, or else trying to find business opportunities or something out in the country.
The issue is power transmission. Wireless transmission has repeatedly been shown to be highly energy intensive and prone to severe loss the further you're sending it, plus you still have to have a way to pick it up and convert it to electricity at a useful rate on the ground.
Can't sue a government entity for damages in commission of their duty, IIRC, even if the entire stop is erroneous. Since ICE basically has carte blanche, I can't see an insurance lawyer that would bother to try. It's why you don't see people successfully going after cops for raiding the wrong home - it doesn't hold up legally in most states.
Cuomo has the support of the guy who, less than a full day after the attack, was in an interview gloating about how he was so happy that he had the tallest building in Manhattan now.
This exactly. And moreover, with SCOTUS saying it's totally OK to detain people in foreign prisons before their case (which is done online to further minimize the ability of the defense to actually do their job), they can just ship you to the country that has a hit on you, and weird, you wind up dead or beaten halfway there so you look nice and dirty for a judge who's already likely decided to throw you wherever (but now you look like "one of them" so there's an extra layer of justification).
Sorry, the guy above you forgot to capitalize American Evangelical, which is rapidly becoming its own denomination. Evangelical churches are all rapidly having to change tack to more and more extreme messaging just to keep congregants, because large portions of the faith want us to go back to Cotton Mather's fire and brimstone God. Evangelical influencers are largely driving this through social media, which feeds back into a loop that wants you to get more and more extreme.
American Evangelicalism isn't about God, Christ, or anything other that justifying hatred towards nonwhites, LGBT people, and anyone to the left of George W Bush. The Bible is convenient window dressing.
Especially when, even if you're not found guilty of actually breaking the law, you can still be brought to your medical board over these laws. They're MEANT to be vague, meant to be open to a million interpretations, just like old poll tests, just like Jim Crow laws, just like a hundred other things.
