Vietnam had an air force, air defenses, and actually acquitted themselves fantastically against the US in the air. They had armor, they were a modern army. The VC was important, but less so than the NVA.
They'd simply go to war with Germany if they tried to kick out the soldiers, I fear. The US military is the proverbial 800-lb gorilla, and like the joke goes, it will sit wherever it damn well pleases under Trump.
What are you gonna do, tell the most powerful land and air and sea military on Earth "hey, you need to not be here"? What are you gonna do if they say "no"? Sure, you can declare war on them (because that WOULD constitute an invasion). Then what?
Yeah, early antifascists kinda sucked too. It didn't help that the leader of the SA was openly gay, so a lot of antifascists latched onto that as an attack and a rallying cry.
If you're taking on a tank with gunfire, you'll notice a problem real quick. The barbs there are meant to detonate anti tank rockets and missiles, too. The best way to take these out is mines or armor of your own.
People are gored by bison at Yellowstone every year. When I visited a few years ago, the rangers were actively having to tell people to avoid an elk who, with his harem, had decided to hang out in Fort Yellowstone for a couple days. People are dumb, or don't think "wow that's a 600+ lb animal the size of a minivan".
Bingo. My coworker needed this almost everywhere that served baked goods because she had a serious cinnamon allergy. Depending on what was being made, it could be bad enough that just the scent of something baking that contained a decent amount of cinnamon, like pies, would be enough to need a couple Benadryl.
Literally what this 'peace deal' is. "Hey, let us keep the land so we can continue to conscript all these Ukrainian men and boys, and give us like a year to rebuild our military out of whatever scraps we have lying around. Also you guys only get like 1/4 of your current guys because it's unfair, and you can't call your friends for help next round."
And by extension, setting precedent on repealing laws based on procedural nitpicks rather than substance, meaning a LOT more laws might be up for debate.
They were still selling into the 30s, marketed primarily towards women ("less maintenance, no gasoline needed", etc). The Depression really killed off the environment that allowed many people to own multiple cars, and those little electric city cars were the first to go because you needed something that was big and could actually carry your kids and your dog and your belongings and whatever else.
This is true, but as most self defense people will tell you, it only takes a small hole in another person to stop them worrying about much more than "oh damn that dude just shot me".
My brother actually gets this a lot from other fathers. They apparently can't comprehend a world where a man with two daughters might actually give a shit about what their daughters like to do, and take an active interest in those things.
