After seeing Chinese citizens on RedNote react to westerners confirming that capitalism really is as bad as they've been told and the Chinese govt isn't lying to them, I'm curious about the average soviet citizens' view of the West and specifically
, what was your understanding of the capitalist world and did you or your comrades have doubts about what you were told about it?
I got recommended a couple To Catch A Predator episodes on
tube, and I'm fascinated by the cops on that show. They know the cameras will broadcast to 100mil+ Americans, so they always have 6-8 pigs waiting in the bushes to collectively tackle and arrest the pervs. They show overwhelming force when they're on TV, when in reality SA and DV crimes almost never get prosecuted. It's incredible copaganda for paranoid white suburbanites, thanks Bush
Thank you for the insight, I think I understand the sentiment now. I'm just really tired of [largely white] people lionizing the USSR while ignoring the other incredible socialist projects that still exist to this day
Oh great another heat wave
Can't wait for every summer for the rest of my life to be the hottest on record
