I'm engaged in what B F Skinner called operant conditioning. It's such a simple psychological effect, it works on all manner of animals. When an animal does something you don't want, you do something the animal doesn't want. Then the animal does it less. When someone platforms the idea that we're all supposed to hate "sociopaths", I create a pointless, annoying, and frustrating argument that pisses everyone off. Then people do it less. It doesn't matter if I change anyone's beliefs, this technique changes habits.
Yeah! Nobody should be making decisions for a helpless animal over what diet they think is acceptable. Anyone who kills innocent cows over their belief in meat eating should be locked up.
Not the evil cows, though. They know what they did.
This. This exactly. I'm very poor so I can't always afford to buy food for myself or my dog. So when times are tough, I kidnap the neighbours' children and feed them to Fido. I'm not going to starve my dog, that's animal abuse.
I'm willing to brand myself as a sociopath if it gets people to treat others with respect. I'm not going to abandon my fellow neurodivergents for self-preservation. We're in this together.
Okay, but you have to know about plant-based steaks and vegan butter. And of course you know about vegan garlic and vegan potato, because all garlic and potato is vegan. What's the extra cost of a vegan steak compared to an animal steak in your area? In mine it's around 3 dollars.
You're correct, sociopathy is a social construct defined by use. And I'm using it to refer to autistic people and people with other sociopathies, in a blatantly transparent attempt to manipulate the general public into having some sympathy for those who have been historically branded with this slur.
It sounds like you aren't very assured of the validity of your sources in backing up your claims. If you don't believe in your own sources, why are you so confident in your opinions?
Now, with the source game out of the way - you cheated. You said sociopathy is actually a different disorder. I specifically told you not to cheat like that. You're arguing for garbage medicine. You're saying sociopathy is a real and very important diagnosis, and not just a Greek buzzword, and your source is a completely different entry in the DSM. You're a pseudoscientist.
Yeah! Someone could be vegetarian for lots of sensible reasons, like religion or fad diets. But veganism is based on the idea that slavery is wrong, which makes it bad.
Einstein said that common sense is the sum of prejudices acquired by the average person by age 18. Religions survive because of common sense. Because of biases taught to children and taken as fact because of their ubiquity. Anything based on common sense is a religion. If veganism is based on common sense, then veganism is no different from any other cult. I'll never agree with anything based on common sense.
I have a live and let live attitude to veganism vs carnism. No living being should be forced to be a vegan, no living being should be forced to be a carnist, and no living being should be forced to be a hamburger. Can't we just end all the aggression and live peacefully?
Cat food is food specifically formulated and designed for consumption by cats. As obligate carnivores, cats have specific requirements for their dietary nutrients, namely nutrients found only in meat or synthesised, such as taurine and Vitamin A.
Hey look, your Wikipedia link says the nutrients cats need from meat can be synthesised in literally the second sentence.
Vegetarian or vegan cat food has been available for many years, and is targeted primarily at vegan and vegetarian pet owners. While a small percentage of owners choose such a diet based on its perceived health benefits, the majority do so due to ethical concerns, such as about the large environmental impacts of animal agriculture.
