  • There are currently 7 downvoted on this post.

Who the fuck would downvote this, and why? xD

  • It doesn't say "xkcd" anywhere in their post except for the URL, and most people are not going to bother clicking on View Source.

So, that is a "citation" in the loosest possible sense.

  • Provide source please: xkcd

  • I really like this idea! Life is not a binary, nor are opinions typically, so the method of expressing that opinion naturally doesn't fit into a binary format a lá upvote/downvote.

Instead of upvote and downvote, there should be like 5-6 options to choose from.

And hell let's take it even further and make it so there's an option you can click with every post that breaks down the current numbers of each pie-chart and/or column-chart style. That to me would be awesome! And it would help facilitate informed voting, which is important in any kind of voting system, whether it be in politics or social media.

  • I work at Kroger. This is 100% A C C U R A T E .

  • I am afraid I'm going to regret asking this, but.....what is a "tallywacker" in this context?

  • Where is this image from, I wonder? Does anyone know?

  • I genuinely don't know what I was thinking. At the time, it did seem uncanny valley–esque.

    Now, it doesnt.

    What the fuck, brain?

  • Thanks, I hate it.

  • That is some Uncanny Valley bullshit right there.

Edit: Welp, that was weird. Not sure what I thought was Uncanny Valley–esque about this image. Don't see it now, but I did then. Fucking weird-ass brain...

  • Thankfully, the subset of bronies in my experience who are also assholes is quite low.

  • Pretty much. I get it. I'm in the same boat. Currently looking for other work but I have sciatica and live in the middle of nowhere and most of the jobs around here are manual labor.

I can do manual labor and really have very little problem with it; I just have to watch myself to make sure I don't overdo it, and most companies seem to have a problem with that because so many out there don't care. They just want higher production numbers, higher speed, faster results, and don't give a shit about the people who genuinely work hard but just are slower than the average person.

Sorry for the ramble. I'm still a little salty about that. (That's a lie; I'm very salty about it. :/ )

  • I used to work in this one factory where I had use to calipers for making sure parts were within specification, and they were digital calipers. Which are all fine and good, except the ones they had sucked. Really made me appreciate the value of a good, old-fashioned well-made analog caliper.

  • Yeeeees, yeeeeess, feel the units flow through you. >}

  • Reading that made my brain hurt. It's times like this that I really wish America would go metric.

    But what I can say? That's a 570-liter dream.

  • Fried fries at McDonald's to get my motorcycle jacket, best I could do

As someone who has worked fast food and currently works retail, there is no shame in that. Sometimes you gotta go through hell to get what you want. 🤜

  • What's the context here?

  • Me whenever someone mentions anything vaguely resembling measurement
