If you're detached enough from real consequence and your team is doing well, those types of emotions can be enjoyable on some level. I see it as similar to a sports fan who always thinks the sky is falling for their team but religiously follows it anyway.
Is the enemy the couple who lives in a pretty big house, or is it the capitalists who own the Chicago Assembly Plant?
