What makes you think we had a library that had a video game section if I said we lived in the middle of nowhere and an hour away from the nearest video game store?
I wouldn't be surprised if the closest library to our old house up there just figured out how to install windows XP on their systems.
I mean we played a ton of different games, but we also lived in the middle of nowhere and we were lucky to buy a new game once every 6 months. Those games got a lot of replays simply because we didn't have access to a big library of games. We would trade disks with kids at school occasionally, but for the most part we only had like 10-15 games for our PS2 at any given time. Had to sell games we didn't play much anymore to afford new ones. Such is the life of poor people living an hour away from the nearest game store at the time lol
I find differences in intelligence alone often aren't the issue. It's more the difference in curiosity. Highly intelligent people tend to be naturally curious and always looking to understand and learn more about things. Less intelligent people tend to do that much less if at all.
I had an ex that was much smarter than me academically speaking (she always had higher grades), but we ended up being incompatible because she just lacked the same level of curiosity or drive to understand things on a day to day level. She greatly lacked common sense and critical thinking.
We still talk often and she asks me for help explaining things that school doesn't teach people and I need her help with basic algebra sometimes.
IQ was always flawed and will always be flawed. Can't judge a fishes intelligence on its ability to climb a tree n all that.
I'm a fucking moron but I tend to score 120+ on all those stupid online "IQ tests" because I am very good with multiple choice questions and pattern recognition.
If you love the guy and you're happy don't let some bullshit IQ tests fuck that up.
In no way am I defending this behavior but wouldn't this only apply to public universities and colleges? The many that are technically private property can entirely ignore this correct?
The act of using a prepped weapon? The gun for sure.
The complexity of the mechanical nature and upkeep? Bow far simpler.
If you were to just hand a prepped weapon to someone and tell them to shoot a target the gun user would be far more likely to succeed first.
If you expected someone to figure out how to prep a weapon (stringing the bow vs loading a mag) I think people would intuitively understand how to prepare the bow for use, but the specific motions and buttons for guns might stump some people.
Now I really want to find a bunch of people who have somehow never seen or heard of either and see which one they intuitively understand easier.
Ivkenz I understand being mad at him for sure. It's they staying mad at him forever that I don't understand. People make mistakes. People change. He didn't do anything worse than 90% of the guys I knew in highschool at some point. You grow up and you learn that behavior isn't correct.
Many years ago he paid like 5 bucks to see if some Indian guys would write "heil Hitler" on a sign and hold it up for a video (they did}. He was doing stupid edgy humor and playing with like like many creators at the time. Many people canceled him "fully" a year or so after that when he had the "bridge incident". He called someone the n word for camping or something while he was playing PUBG. He apologized and took responsibility for using the word...sorta. He continued to make content for a few more years and then he "retired" in Japan with his wife and child. They post update videos every few months but more or less he got his bag and dipped out after he pulled too many stupid moves and was seen as "toxic" to work with.
I don't think he's a bad person, but that's just as someone who occasionally watched his videos over the years.
Yeah except I never claimed to know anything about them aside from a user name. they claimed incorrect things about me in another thread awhile back then dipped from the thread.
It was a 50/50 on the gender and statically my odds were better assuming it was a guy. Oh well.
If they are so unfathomably stupid then how do you alleged geniuses keep losing elections to those morons?
Do you think it might have something to do with how unbelievably smug and elitist some of you guys come across?
I'm not even disagreeing with your specific points as I think they are generally correct, but you have to realize that pointing at a group of people and basically calling them too stupid to know any better is never going to get them to change or side with you. All it will do is make them hate you.
Yeah there's fidgety and then there's leg jiggling so aggressively that the entire row of desks is moving and I'm not even noticing because I am so focused on what I am writing down.
Also in adulthood I was finally properly diagnosed with "moderate to severe ADHD". Probably should have done that in highschool when I told my parents but what are you gonna do. Can't change the past.
How am I supposed to curate my own Lemmy when conservative subs are turned into crappy meme factory's poking fun at the conservatives which is already what all of the other subs fucking do.
This is like building a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks and then telling me to find coffee somewhere else when all the fucking coffee places in a 10 mile radius have already been bought out and converted to yet another goddamn Starbucks.
