Hi! I'm British, I like music (grime, garage, hip-hop, R&B, and more!). I like art, culture, history, politics, & doomscrolling memes.

Also a touch of programming :)

  • Gonna be the odd one out here and say that all of these names are kinda stupid, but Lemmyverse is probably the best of the bunch.

  • In Ecosia's settings you can set it to primarily use Google results instead of Bing. Makes it a lot more enjoyable to use.

  • That's cool man, big up.

  • It does require some tinkering but you can do that with Librewolf

  • I use their search engine but wasn't convinced the browser offered much, personally.

free alcohol on tap too luvs

  • Use a custom DNS to block stuff like this. PiHole, nextdns, adguard etc.

  • Both uBlock Origin and my piHole are blocking prod.vodvideo.cbsnews.com (which is the video autoplaying). My browser (Librewolf) also blocks it - as blocked because the triggering iframe has the sandbox flag set.. Stuff like this always is down to your own set up.

  • nvm figured it out edit: it's webgl being disabled in about:preferences#librewolf - figure it out via hamburger menu > more tools > web developer tools > console, and seeing errors about WebGL pop up.

  • LibreWolf @lemmy.ml

Any idea what might be blocking maps to appear on Uber? I've disabled uBlock, enhanced tracking protection, pihole, whitelisted canvas blocker. It works fine in Brave

Click this and then try to post a comment. There's the issue.

The script redirects all links to your home instance. You posted that comment from https://lemmy.zip/ which is where you have your account, hence no issue. If I link you this post from another instance (see above), you won't be able to interact.

  • Is there a way to change this behaviour?

  • exit50 seems to suggest Firefox is German and Brave is Swiss which is.... not the case

  • I'm logged in on sh.itjust.works, I'm not logged in or have an account on lemmy.ml. If I want to interact with posts from lemmy.ml, I want to do so from my home instance of sh.itjust.works whre I'm logged in and have my main account.

  • Might be worth bringing it up in the voyager community. That definitely shouldn't be the case.

  • They do not. Are you using Sync for Lemmy? It's broken and doesn't hide properly
