  • I've been using Nova launcher for just as long, and finally got off of it in November. First it was no updates, then whispers of ad injections, and now the ads are actually here.

With that said, I tried Lawnchair, and found it to be clunky, unintuitive, and either lacking the features that I wanted or I couldn't find them.

I ended up going with Smart Launcher, which has been a fantastic replacement. It's got everything that Nova Launcher has and more, and it's very easy to use.

  • Isn't Frank Rizzo also one of the monikers used by "The Jerky Boys"? The prank calling group from the 90's that used to make tapes?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jerky_Boys

    Yup...

Frank Rizzo – an extremely abrasive, foul-mouthed blue-collar Italian-American New Yorker with bizarre complaints and requests (voiced by Johnny Brennan). Frank curses repeatedly at a potential employer during an inquiry about a job, and accuses the Mickey Mouse character at Disney World of being sexually inappropriate with his children.

  • Imma go with: Reoccurring stage 3 cancer that spreads from organ to organ leaving him in miraculasly survivable unending rounds of chemotherapy and unsurmountable medical debt. And a pineapple up the ass every day at 3pm.

  • UwU bbbut my dad thinks I'm twemendous.

  • It is not, but it's music related. But I also have outdoors hobbies. And electronics hobbies.

  • Buying more expensive and better gear will not make you better at it. I not even going to tell you what the hobby is because this applies to so many of them. If you can do your hobby with the gear you have and you think "oh man I wish I had that, I could do awesome things" - it's only worth it if you spend a whole lot of time on your hobby. If you're like me and you only spend a couple hours a week or month on your hobby, it's usually not worth it. Unless it's something that let's you do stuff faster. Because then you can do more in the few hours you have. I'm sure there are other exceptions to the rule, but in general, before you buy some shit, think to yourself "Do I really need this? Or do I just want it?"

  • Especially if you want to make "good" food. I'm not saying there isn't good food that is healthy for you. But if you want to make things taste like they do in a high end restaurant, it's probably going to require a shitload of butter/ghee and salt. And then probably cream. And also highly fatty meats.

It's usually just butter. So much fucking butter.

  • This isn't my story it was a friend, but I think about it often and it still makes me laugh. It was high school English class and the teacher asked "does anybody know the famous quote from 'The Elephant Man'?" and without missing a beat my friend put his arm in front of his face like and elephant trunk and made a loud and accurate elephant noise while slowly waving his arm up. Everybody thought it was hilarious except for the teacher who sent him to sit in the hall for the rest of the period. So he's sitting out there and 5 minutes later the door opens and another kid comes out and my friend is like "what did you do wrong?" and the other kid goes "I couldn't stop laughing"

Which is fucking great. Gets me every time.

  • Wait is that true? I would totally eat yogurt if it meant I could enjoy ice cream again.

  • IT admin here, we certainly do know how to do it, and already have. It's an appx package, and it's really not difficult to remove.

  • Hiro Protagonist

  • I'm not saying that it will make the car stop, but will sure as hell make it harder to get away.

  • Yeah I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure he could have shot the tires? Like. Disable the vehicle, don't kill the driver. They had plenty of other vehicles around they could have boxed her in with. I'm not saying that boxing her in and ripping her out of her car is okay, but it sure is infinitely better than murder.

  • I recently got a 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C as a gift and I love everything except for the color. That's really the least of my concerns. It's a fantastic all account controller with excellent features for what I would call a fair price (considering other "premium" controllers are like $150+)

8bitdo is the only 3rd party controller maker that I trust.

  • Except for AWD. I think the Pacifica does on higher trims, but Christler... Ew. And the Sienna Hybrid comes in AWD, but once again that's a more expensive/premium trim. In a place like Minnesota, I could see why the Pilot might make more sense. I say this as an owner and huge fan of my Honda Oddessey.

  • My daughter tested positive for Flu A a couple days later. So I'm assuming that's what everybody has.

  • Oh, I was hoping for a tamiflu prescription. I was hanging out with my family last Saturday, and my brother-in-law came down with symptoms on Sunday. He went to urgent care on Monday, similarly tested negative, but was given a tamiflu script. The script helped him kick it in 2 days. I came down with symptoms on Tuesday and went to urgent care hoping for the same thing, but got nothing. Now I'm on day 6 of being sick but today is the first time I didn't wake up in a pool of sweat, so that's good.

Ibhave two very young children and I wanted to reduce my chances of spreading it to them. One of them is safe so far, but the other, is down for the count. Having to take care of a toddler with the flu while also down with the Flu was something I was trying to avoid. It's been a tough week.

  • You might be mixing up urgent care with emergency care. Urgent care is a walk-in for sicknesses etc. If I tried to make an appointment with my primary physician, it's like 2 months out, minimum. Another awful part of our current system.

  • I came down with flu symptoms this week and went to the local urgent care. Waited an hour to be seen, they did a rapid flu and covid swab and it came back negative. They told me that the flu strain going around right now doesn't test positive for a few days and that it's probably the flu given all of the symptoms. They told me that I am young and healthy enough so I should just take Tylenol and drink fluids and ride it out. All in all it took 2 hours and there was a $100 co-pay with my insurance that I pay out the ass for. No tamiflu script. This medical system is trash. Every time I get sick my wife urges me to go to urgent care and I'm like "no, they are completely unhelpful and it costs too much money"

I would be much more willing to go if it didn't cost so much and take so long.

One of these days something is actually going to be wrong, and my distrust for the medical system is going to land me in the hospital for something that was treatable.
