  • I'm not an expert but I've got a friend of a friend who works in digital security (to the point where he applied to CSIS and boy is that an interesting different story) and I was asking him about Signal.

He seemed to be very confident that Signal's code is completely public, that if it had secret backdoors or whatever people would know.

He also confirmed that while Signal may be secure (not a statement he made definitively) your phone very likely isn't, so it's a moot point.

  • She's been saying this for over a year hasn't she?

  • Hey me too. Our ideas are probably pretty different tho

  • Pleasant surprise to learn that almost all the Dare brand cookies, like Oreos, are actually vegan

  • Oh haha yes comrade I have been here since the inception and r/cth before it like I say obviously I know the quote

  • I don't know much about Norway and I don't know if the post is legitimate, but my old coworker moved to Sweden ten years ago.

She told me that she was surprised to learn how much psychic distress she regularly carried around because there was no serious safety net where we lived (C*nada), and that she gets so much more of her life to live without that threat haunting her. That thought rolls around my head all the time.

  • I like the movies, great have a beer and have a good time watching GI stand-ins get skewered with pool cues. I don't really care if people like Avatar but I do understand if they think it's racist.

Not liking it because it's "Fern Gully in space" though is a completely confusing take. Like so many great films have similar plots to older films, or are even directly remakes. Do these people only watch films to see original plots? Super fucking weird behavior to me.

  • :wolf-that-looks-like-a-doonesbury-character:

  • Yeah the Sartre quote that we all definitely know. Obviously I know it as like all of us do.

But like, just in case there's a lurker or something here who hasn't maybe you should post it?

I would but I'm busy (but I know the quote)
