  • Maybe what I was thinking was that they can’t deny entry to citizens. Im not sure exactly, but there was some benefit citizens had.

  • A foreigner who is in the US legally can own a business, run for political office, own land, have a professional job like doctor, teacher, lawyer.

I am a US citizen but live in a foreign country as a resident and I can’t do any of those things here even though I am here legally. Only citizens are allowed to do those things here.

So in that regard, I’d say the US respects foreigners right.

  • People keep saying that they can’t for e you to enter your pin, but they can enforce biometrics.

I’m pretty sure that immigration in the US can just confiscate your devices if you are not a citizen .

  • I bet energy usage of aws is counted for the business/people using those services.

  • What the fuck is Starbound?

I just looked at it and it looks amazing!!

  • I get that, I remember basically living on the wiki once I got to hard mode.

If you accept you need the wiki, then it will be a better experience.

As far as collecting went, I think I just kept chests for everything. I didn’t do base building or decorating so I really didn’t bother with that stuff.

I think the fun part was exploring and finding stuff.

  • They now have an official mastodon account. That’s pretty cool.

  • I got obsessed with my first run of terraria, but I have trouble getting into a second run of the game. I think the exploration aspect of how to do things has diminished a bit.

Maybe I’ll give it another go soon as it’s been a while.

  • Good, this is an S+ tier game. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but if you look at the game and what it offers. I think you can objectively agree that it is a masterpiece of a game.

  • That’s pretty rare these days. If you running reading edge then maybe there are a few months or using a wifi- usb adapter.

  • I think a VM is a bad solution. Maybe if it’s a very rarely used program, but typically the stuff people need that don’t work in Linux are for work which is why people HAVE to use them.

If I did that, I’d just be working out of a windows vm 99% of my computing time, so it doesn’t make sense for me.

  • I’m not a Linux wizard but I’m pretty skilled and I love mint. Although, my preference recently changed to Fedora plasma.

  • This is my thought as well. Even if things go well this time, who’s to say they will not feel entitled to come back. Maybe with or without your knowledge.

I’d send them away otherwise I might start getting a regular visitor to my house asking for stuff.

In public, I’m happy to give money or food.

  • I think about this sometimes. What stuff can't you do in a Linux GUI that an average person would be able to do in Windows? For the sake the simplicity, lets limit the GUI to Cinnamon, Plasma, or Gnome.

Obviously, there are obscure GUIs out there, but in the main ones, I think just about everything can be done without CLI.

  • Dude! They are all once a century events. It’s just that they are all happening in the same year.

  • I’m all for them striking, but I expect people visiting the parks will not take it well.

They will understandably be upset that their vacation got ruined, but I fear they will direct their anger towards the striking cast members.

  • Those are good points actually.

You’ve changed my opinion about how I felt about version 2.

  • Here is the honest answer from someone who has hired people.

If you are over qualified for the job, the deal is that you will keep looking and quickly switch to a job better suited for your talents.

That means, I need to spend a bunch of time and money looking for a new candidate and spend money and time on training and getting them up to speed.

Hiring someone is extremely time consuming and pretty expensive. There are tons of no tangible things that go into considering who to hire.

  • That reminds me of this cringe YouTube short I saw.

This recent college grad was talking about how he was an intern on Wall Street but decided to take a risk and quit his job to start a company in Dubai.

He then shows a clip of him in this really fancy condo and then asks if the viewer will do the same thing of following their dreams.

Where the fuck did he get the money to move to Dubai and start a company? Who’s paying for that fancy condo?

Pissed me off to no end. He clearly just started working but had plenty of money and then acts like following your dreams is a matter of courage. Fuck off!
