  • BDS?

  • Thank you so much!

  • I don't think OP thinks they are actually equivalent though, it's just a satirical comparison.

Another comparison could be vegans. Environmental impact of meat consumption is huge and it also has the more obvious harm and ethical issues.

Vegans get a lot of shit anyway, but imagine if every comment or post about meat, regardless of where it was or in what context got a barrage of abrasive comments from vegans?

You will never convince someone of your cause if you're a dick to them. It's a huge internet trait to just go full meltdown at everything rather than talk with some you don't agree with to aim for a better outcome.

  • I was about to ask a similar question about i2p, people seem to respond with links that explain things in slightly too much technical detail for me to be able to follow. I just don't get it, but I'm interested in trying to understand more.

I could really do with an ELIA5 on what it is. I'll keep trying to find my own information that I can understand in the meantime.

  • Please try cooking out the toxins from some chicken 2 weeks past it's use by date and let us know how it goes.

  • This is how I decline into drinking too much. I'm currently on a good path though.

  • I don't know how it is where you are, but here disabled and elderly people already ride the bus for free.

  • I think you got a minority of downvotes to start, then others piled in. There are plenty of similar jokes in the thread that didn't get that treatment. Also, people on the internet are generally pretty bad at reading and the venn diagram has a lot of overlap with people looking for an excuse to be offended.

  • This articulates my frustration with the internet/lemmy extremely well. I've saved it for future reference and I'm optimistically hopeful for the future when maybe this isn't something so many people need to see.

  • Nestle produces a lot of other things than sugar and fat. So much in fact that it's actually hard to completely avoid them. The point is that they are a terrible company who does bad things, so you should boycott them.

Also, people can indulge in sugar and fat if they want to.

Little edit on that past point because some people don't understand indulge doesn't always mean over indulge, or they outright think I'm deranged because I might indulge in a chocolate bar as a treat in my otherwise varied and balanced diet and I suggested others might do the same if they want to.

I understand too much fat and chocolate is bad, that doesn't mean the world should never eat things that might be bad for them in moderation, relax.

  • Ants can't read dumbass. Subtitles don't cause ants, trans people do.

  • I imagine it would improve wages as employers would need to properly incentivise people to return to those jobs. Probably why UBI hasn't made it past a trial yet.

  • There was no last season, lalala not listening.

  • It's not about how much weight the plane carries so much as flight attendants doing overhead lifting and the risk of one falling out of the overhead locker. Source, I'm on the internet and you read it

  • Can't believe they used AI for this instead of staging the picture irl with their gran in an alligator pond.

  • I've read this response and the about section of the community and I still don't understand, sorry. I'm not trying to be difficult but thought it might be useful to you for growing the community to know.

  • Better version

  • Surely a community poll to choose the picture? Power hungry mods forcing the custard cream agenda...
