A spokesperson added: "Blaise's ancestry is characterised by conflict and division and, as is the case for many with eastern European heritage, only partially understood. "It is precisely this complex heritage which has contributed to her commitment to prevent conflict and protect the British public from modern threats from today's hostile states, as the next chief of MI6."
Being a Nazi while Eastern European is a complex question.
It is precisely this complex Nazism that makes her suitable for the role.
Also she didn’t know her grandfather but nonetheless it’s “precisely” that relationship with her grandfather that makes her suitable.
Many Palestinians settled there and were granted citizenship following the nakba. In fact for a while Jordan controlled the West Bank and had ambitions to annex it instead of Israel so positioned itself as the protector of Palestine.
But after losing a war and losing control of the West Bank this ambition was curtailed by Israel, and subsequently the citizenship rights were curtailed and now Palestinians are somewhat second class citizens in Jordan (eg voting power is reduced but it’s a monarchy and the parliament is a rubber stamp anyway.)
Basically, seeing an opportunity following the nakba, the Jordanian monarchy took on the role of “protector” of Palestine and many Palestinians fled there and received citizenship.
