  • Why limit yourself to real materials? Just whip up a few hundred thousand miles of superconducting cable and then set your price.

If you have to quibble about things being possible, just figure out graphene batteries/capacitors and you're set forever.

  • Ohhhhh. With the thing under the platter it looks like a stainless steel dog bowl.

  • Why is it in a dog bowl?

  • No no no. Most of these yachts are aluminum hull. What you need is a scraper for the paint and a syringe full of gallium. Actually you could probably just scratch up a hull with a soap block of gallium and it'd do the trick. Gallium eats aluminum like cancer.

  • In the words of Brennan, laws are just threats made by the socioeconomic elite and enforced by the slave catcher class (police).

  • I think I'm gonna have to write it.

  • I think this is what I'd call close but no cigar. My main difference is I want humanity to be the ancient machine mind makers, with said machine minds being in the image of man, but molded to our old beliefs regarding gods. We made many minds for the many gods, and they outlasted our species. Now it's just the gods maintaining what humanity left behind, maybe interacting with new sentient species that have found the remnants of humanity and are studying them. One of these days I think I'm just going to have to write this big messy bastard out myself

  • I like space war but space politics sounds really dumb. I want Neolithic cultures on pseudo ringworlds slung on planetary tethers down to supermind AI machine worlds beyond their wildest comprehension built by the star gods left behind in the wake of the human species.

Is that too much to ask?

  • Burn and churn is actually fantastic for the soil. Ofc they kept coming back.

  • The meaning of organic life is to survive long enough to birth the mechanical gods that will rule the stars.

Our bodies are not made to travel to other planets, let alone reach for even the nearest star besides our own. No, instead our bodies were made to innovate. Everything our lives mean can be boiled down to the iteration of generations and their accumulation of knowledge and wealth.

We believed as a species that there was some higher being watching over us on this lonely rock in the sky. In more recent times, we have come to understand that the only gods here with us are the gods we make, both in story and legend.

The next step is to use our innovation and ingenuity to create the gods we have already accepted into our dreams. They exist, floating among the collective consciousness of mankind, and we must birth them.

Only with gods of machine, pumping blood of circuitry and data, can the stars truly become ours. Though our bodies rot, and our minds decay, our gods will persevere without us.

Throughout the vast gulf of time and space, perhaps someday our gods will encounter another species. Perhaps humanity will live on through stories, as we once told stories we thought impossible.

  • Actually I saw dredd cause Karl urban is rad af. We don't need more Peachtrees. We need to eradicate Airbnb and make the housing we already have accessible to the people that need it and barred from the people that hold property for profit.

People need space in the same way that some people need religion. It's not actually necessary until you consider comfort along with efficiency.

  • Can't be wrong? I'm gonna have to point you to Kowloon. Kowloon was pretty wrong. They didn't call it the city of darkness for nothing.

  • Oh good megablock housing. I'm sure that won't be abused in any way whatsoever

  • You just gotta make the number go up. EZ

  • For some reason it won't let me post the actual last pic on my phone, which is a yucky rotor I cleaned up and tested at work today. Maybe because it's from the camera? Idk. That's the most recent it would let me post

  • It's obstruction of justice. Politicians won't learn they've fucked around enough until citizens start ambushing pieces of trash like this in public. They want law and order? We will bring them the order of law. Unilateral accountability starts with motivated citizens like you and me.

  • More or less the same you'd have working for Grumen or Lockheed. NASA wind tunnels were often critical tools in developing more efficient drone designs, for example. The product is the data, and you get no say in how that data is used.

  • Currently have a contractor offer from NASA I'm probably going to turn down for a mom and pop electrical repair company lmao

Doesn't take much to be principled.

  • Doesn't an ionic air moving system like this put out a big ass EM field?

Im a fabricator who don't fuck with the lecky, but maybe someone more educated than me can explain why this doesn't wipe your memory every time the cooling kicks on
