  • I mean this wholeheartedly and by no means do I mean to be rude or snarky. I'm glad that works for you but unfortunately there is a ton of us who have to use it for a huge list of things. I personally use it to learn how to fix or make things because for me I need a video for it. I use a bunch of work arounds and such but eventually this will become a bigger issue. Soon embedded videos will stop working for news websites and such at this rate.

Those of us just trying to make it day to day can't be the only ones trying to do anything when a corporation kills the planet equivalent to a billion people polluting. Someone who accidentally spills oil in the driveway gets in more trouble than a company dumping millions of gallons into the ocean.

  • I switched to Firefox and using DDG as my search engine about 2m ago and I'll be honest I really don't care for it. I'm trying my best but I use my phone for 100% of my browsing and not being able to set a home page sucks and with DDG searching for stuff takes significantly longer to get answers with. I search for a ton of stuff that I just need a quick answer to that when searching for Google would just show the answer instead of needing to open links and such. I'm giving it a bit more time but I'll probably end up back with chrome.

  • I disagree. Lemmy is a very small group of individuals and these type of threads are going to have similar minded people finding eachother. In the grand scheme of things we are next to nothing in scale of the billions of people on this planet.

  • There was a guy who got stuck in his grain silo and before calling authorities he made a tiktok that showed him sinking every time he took a breath or moved in anyway. He was surprisingly calm but you could hear panic slowly wave over him as he spoke about how fucked he was. He was later rescued alive and made a very short video saying he survived.
