  • Don't know if it's worth mentioning but if an avocado is hard when I wake up, and I know I'm trying to make Mexican food that night, I just shoot it in a paper bag with whatever fruit I've got laying by and it usually does seem to help. Or it's all in my head. People claim bananas and apples work best. I usually keep a bag of apples around if i can, so I use that.

It's some horseshit about trapping gases in the bag, but letting oxygen flow through... Idk

  • Yeah I'm not sure, but haven't spent any time really looking through them. I've seen some images that were clearly scanned and the size reduced so you couldnt read words in the image you'd think they would have scanned the redacted files as well to the same PDF dump or whatever, which had they done would have flattened them. To me it seems more of a we "properly" redacted and covered up files for some people, and we didn't care as much about others. Whether or not they were trying to allow for those people to be "accidentally" found is a possibility, but who knows

  • Openly advocating to invade places to steal from them all while keeping the word "News" printed on the screen. Fox should be permanently shut down

  • No it's not still there, we can see the comment was edited

  • What?

  • Poor kid.

  • The only thing I've run into on one of my machines is getting it to not let the lan go to sleep. My jellyfin server runs mint and it doesn't have any issues falling asleep, but I was going to move some of my stuff to another machine so that old laptop wasn't having to take all of the work and the second one seems to want to sleep even after modifying the config.d file. I must have overlooked something.

  • Toasted thin brioche with garlic butter, light smather of roasted pepper jelly, prescuttio wrapping muenster cheese topped with heated salami and pepperoni, so it is moistened by the juices of the Italian meats but stills holds the crunchy, airy feeling in the bite.

Pickle wedge on the side. Choice of side

  • Yeah, bit of land staked off, 5 goats, 5 cows, 15 chickens, fencing and 100 acres of agriculture would do you much better.

  • The whole time I just pictured myself having a bunker full of in ground freezers with hidden solar panels and they are just chock full of shite gas station sandwiches to ensure they last 50 years. (Hopefully we sort out our agriculture game in a few months or we are just going to all die of malnutrition)

  • Let's be honest though, in a complete societal collapse (not likely to ever happen) if I had sandwiches, and you had a block of gold. Your good is worthless unless someone else is willing to trade for it. You come with gold, say it's worth something, I say meh, maybe 15 pounds for one sandwich, you say no way, you grow weak through starvation I say 20 pounds, you say no way, grow weaker and I say 30 pounds, you say I only had 15, you die of starvation and I bury your currently worthless gold somewhere in case it eventually has value again.

  • Just for fun I would have considered not putting the divider in so they had to make sure they told the cashier when the last item was, or pay for stuff they didn't want.

  • One Night Only, The Blues Brothers!

  • They have been playing ads on TV consistently for them. Hers saying she wants to help try to keep health insurance available, not get premiums raised and help the people of Tennessee.

His saying she's a radical that was opposed to ICE agents and trying to bully them by blocking them with her car.

His ads have nothing policy based ever said, because it sounds like none of his policies help the people. I guess he is pro tariffs or something, idk

  • Mozilla is just as big of a scam and has had presence here on lemmy from the beginning. Anyone who thinks FireFox isn't a remote control car driven by Google and does there bidding is lying to themselves in my opinion. (It will get downvoted here) But if someone pays all your bills to stay alive, you aren't doing anything but what they say. If Mozilla wants to be a company that has something to say, they need to cut their contracts with Google. Up to 85% of revenue from Firefox comes from Google. Or as people like to say on here.. if 20 people sit down at a table, and 17 are "Nazis" the other 3 are as well.

So if Google is bad, Firefox is as well

  • Squash I can often make last a couple days worth of meals. Depending on the squash you can roast it like a chicken parmesan, just skip the cheese (yikes). My second year here I grew around 100s cucumbers on accident from a 8x4 plot. So I could pickle cucumbers and then dehydrate some for chips, something entertaining for winter snacks

  • Why would I not get it from strawberries, blackberries and such? I live to far north for oranges and such, not to mention trees take years to mature for harvest. Strawberries I figure I planted a couple years ago and can just expand, blackberries people say spread easily. Broccoli might be an option, I'm not big on collard greens but they are around the area. Spinach should grow here fine. I suppose you could can that stuff as well. I usually do Peppers and tomatoes, but those don't have vitamin C I dont think.

    Forgot, quash/zucchini/cucumbers grow well here.

I'll have to check what nutrition they have
