  • First, im no trumpster, i dont like the guy. The MM is really pulling out all the stops on spinning this one. Trump did just fine, Republicans think he did just fine, and some even consider it a win. It's crazy how strong the MM is pushing it a major Harris win and that Trump did very badly, and that even Republicans think he lost, the headline "Republicans dismayed" is just bullshit, I know a lot of Republicans, and none have claimed to be "dismayed". That's the spin. I know everyone here thinks it was a big Harris win and no one denies it, so I'm just here to tell inform yall that those of us who live in reality don't consider it a big win for Harris or that Trump did badly. All the big news stations are helping to push that narrative of a MAJOR Harris win. As always, MSNBC, USAtoday, CNN, NBC, NYtimes, Washington Post etc. I know most of yall trust these news outlets and don't think they have bias, but they most certainly do.

Kamala pissed me off with all the stupid faces she was making, she also just sounded like a whinny B---- several times. My personal opinion is that it was more like a tie than anything, Harris had no content to what she said. But Trump did let her get under his skin. They both lied... and quite a bit.

Anyway, I know where I am, I know the responses I'm going to get in this liberal echo chamber. So come on.

  • Love it! Thank you for that. I have been corrected and concede. I mean damn, that was well-informed.

  • Major update: politician acts like a politician.

  • Well, I'm not sure cameo appearances qualify "movie star."

And maybe they wouldn't be that insightful. Either way, it's a silly notion. We certainly should put weight in the political opinions of pop stars. Queen Latifahs endorsement of Biden is what swayed my vote.

Edit: So... Everyone agrees pop stars political opinions are important? It's ok that Queen Latifahs swayed my vote?

  • Lol. Hmmm ok

  • I bet they'd also say if a pop star is influential on your political opinions, you're a damn moron.

  • Thank you, same. Yeah, I agree that continuing would probably not produce much and would be tiring for us both. Well, I don't think I consider the war in Ukraine UNimportant, but maybe rather that our extreme involvement is just that, maybe too extreme. What really gets me is when I hear about other 3rd parties leaching off the support we are supposed to be sending to Ukraine. These are people stoking the flames getting people riled about our need to support Ukraine, but their only real agenda is benefiting themselves and constituents by siphoning of funds. That's just one aspect...

Socially, so many folks around here have such polarized opinions, and it's crazy to me. Some of these are the same folks who didn't even realize Ukraine and Russia shared a border a few years ago, but now they act like they are professors of the geopolitics of Eastern Europe. Anyway, let me not rant anymore...

Thank you for coming at me straight, brother.

  • Lol. Good one.

  • Uhg, gross... your attitude (and opinions) is ignorant and contemptible. I'm guessing you're probably a teenager.

  • Uhg... I can't respond to such a long rant, but here's some things.

First, you're pretty right about my original comment. It was pretty inflammatory. I regret coming off that way and definitely could have written with more tact. Honestly, I wasn't wrong, though. 80% of the responses have been ignorant, insulting personal attacks. Yours now included.

Sigh... ok. You're mostly wrong because you're making assumptions, generalizing, misquoting, and putting words in my mouth.

You've been disrespecting people from the jump, saying only like 4 people will be able to understand you.

Not what I said or implied. I said 2 or 3 would be better informed, not "would be able to understand me." And big difference.

You reject the idea that you might be wrong and that other people might have a point.

I do? What assumption did you make to come to that conclusion? Especially after I had just said some would be better informed than I?

You simply dismiss and attack people who disagree with you.

I did? Can you give me an example of how I did that?

You've had chances to prove your point and didn't, at all, you just attacked people.

Which point did I have a "chance to prove" but rather just attacked?

and their people raped and murdered, well, it seems like you don't have any morals.

You're just putting words in my mouth here, I didn't imply that. Very few people "don't care" about rape and murder, and to try to paint me as such a person is ignorant, disingenuous, and shows your agenda to try to color me in as a "bad guy" or "sociopath".

Saying you don't care if they win it's some cold shit.

No, it's not. That's only your opinion and based on this characature you're trying to turn me into.

when you enter the conversation saying people won't be able (to understand) you because they don't get it

Didn't say that, or imply that.

You called people who might disagree with you "parrots" and "drones" and here you are talking about disrespect?

I didnt say that those who disagree with me were "parrots" or "drones." Rather, just stated that is what people would mostly do here.

you are did come out of the gate attacking anyone who might disagree with you.

No, it was an attack on the ignorant with terrible opinions. And as proof, everyone here that came politely and respectful, I also treated the same. I have welcomed opposing opinions when stated politely.

In summation, I'm not your damn straw man. You trying to paint me as some characature at best is probably a fault of reading comprehension. At worst, it's intentional and purposeful to use such poor tactics to try to improve your argument. I've never claimed any victimhood. I claimed I've been personally attacked, which is true.

  • It's hilarious when they say this. "Sending money over there" is a literal catchphrase for Trumpers.

Say what? How is that even a catchphrase? I don't recall hearing anyone ever say that "catchphrase." Who told you "sending money over there" is somehow a protrump catchphrase?

Lemme help you. You are generalizing stereotypes, never a smart thing to do. I do agree about this:

no politician should have a fanbase

I'm certainly no trumpster, and personally hate how he has turned the conservative party into the "trump party." I have some conservative leaning views as well as some more liberal views.

Don't be so ready to classify people and turn it into a "us vs them" issue. We should try not to stoke the flames of division, there is more than enough of that.

  • Sorry... I shouldn't be an ass...

  • Are you even reading the comments? Everyone that comes and is polite and respectful, I also treat politely and respectfully... or, more honestly, I've been trying...

I have been receiving lots of personal attacks, I think it has put me on the defense, and I have probably poorly.

You are also insulting and disrespectful. Anyway...

  • I appreciate you coming with fair enough opinions without personal attacks.

If Ukraine joined NATO, it might not have prevented this attack, and that's the huge issue. Putin has indicated that it would not have stopped the invasion, which you seem to be educated enough to understand that would probably start WW3.

It would have worked for Ukraine, and it's part of why I believe Putin pulled the trigger on this before Ukraine was in NATO.

I can believe that because I think Putin doesn't necessarily want to start WW3. But he has indicated that it wouldn't have stopped him as well.

I personally don't believe it's worth to risk WW3 over the conflict of Ukraine and Russia. The history and issues of Ukraine and Russia are long, complicated, and frankly, IMO, hardly any business of ours.

  • Comparing isn't "deflecting." The fact that you also compared how you also didn't support the US invasions to the Russia invasion kind of proves it was a fair and relevant comparison. YOU should consider calling some things "whataboutism"s is sometimes "deflecting".

  • Lol. And this is just an ad hominem attack. Not my fault you only understand opposing opinions as "word vomit"

  • You all need to stop claiming "whataboutism." It is called a comparison, and if you supported it or not, it was a good comparison.

  • Oh.. shwoosh. My bad sry.

  • First, thank you for your comment without personal attacks, I'm getting torn up over here, but its me that is getting reported and comments removed for "incivility."

Anyway, what you say is true, but I believe we need to be discerning with respect to our political influences and sources. I don't think it's necessarily wrong to consider the opinions of others (pop star or not), but it should not have the weight to sway our voting one way or the other
