There are many crazy people who can drastically change the state of many things. 70% of government heads are complete idiots or pieces of shit. Or both. 90% of billionaires are too. Maybe even all 100%. And they have a tremendous amount of power.
Hobbies is the answer. Doomscrolling is a symptom of passive lazy boredom. Any hobby (no matter how strange or plain stupid) keeps attention focused and provides a stable income of joy.
Just go and fix that squeaky door handle too. And throw away some rusted garbage from the garage. Bycicle waits for maintenance from last year. And carpet has more dust than the Sakhara desert.
I hate overdramatic lying. It devalues the background theme. And I see 2 ways of fighting such lies: first -- say "Fuck you, stupid overdramatic liar", second -- make a joke pointing on the overdramatism. In this particular situation I chose the second variant. You like the first one more?
Fanatics. Fanatic users with crazy ideas who won't listen to anything that isn't exactly their opinion. Fanatic mods who backs fanatic users. Fanatic idiots who are just idiots and don't even have any coherent opinion but still fanatically shout about it.
Is Lemmy better? Well, the contingent ratio is the same but the moderation is more lenient here, so fanatics are significantly more harmless.
