Really interesting messaging in the banners. "Fight the boycott" ... Hmm wonder what was being boycotted in 1939 America, let's check the internet: Oh just the 1933 anti Nazi boycott.
I think the parallel between that boycott and the Russian sanctions is pretty interesting. Also the parallel between what happened with the annexation of The Sudetenland in the 1930s by Nazi Germany and what is happening with the Crimea region on the Ukraine/Russian border.
I took a look at the transcript, and surprisingly it did a good job spitting out the German (I think?). Ran it through google translate because I don't speak the language.
Anyways, the woman speaking is saying that the request for a moment of silence was already rejected by the President so that's why she keeps going.
Dude was trying to ignore the ruling that was already issued on his request and go outside of the procedural rules.
I wouldn't even say that live in a world of communist theory because a lot of their egregious takes are contrary to actual theory, Marxist-Leninist slant or not.
Low-key was really hoping that having that sort of demographic representation in the COVID deaths would translate to a different electoral outcome.
But no, we crave fascism I guess. That or the election was stolen in 2024 which I wouldn't even be surprised if that were true given the level of projection Trump and the GOP/MAGAtards regularly engage in.
Yes, I'm not that big of a dick. My apology led to her sharing some silly shit she's said to her buddies that were akin to my slip up.
It's not like I punched her in the face and spit on her lol, if I had couched it better it would have probably just been funny but I just went hella sarcastic and dick mode.
In context she had said she got really good news then showed me the announcement on her phone so I was like expecting some actually good news for her not some stupid celebrity tabloid shit that's ultimately meaningless.
Idk I know we all need our bread and circuses, I'm wrapped up in plenty of equally inane and pointless crap same as everyone else - sometimes I just am bad at being a human. I'm not very good at socializing in general, it's something I've had to learn and try to study and be good at still - definitely does not come naturally to me. I've gotten pretty good at pretending, I'm a decent "professional people person" when I turn my human mask part of my brain on since reading people is something I've had to focus on because I can't just socialize like a human being normally does.
But yeah that's a very long way of saying, yes I'm not that mean of a guy.
Hmm I should make a note of those terpenes. Internet stranger TMI here but having ibs-d I've found marijuana is one of the few things that has seemed to help some over the course of my life.
Even the prescription medicine I've taken for it wears off sooner or later but I've never really paid attention that strictly to terpenes, perhaps it's time I do so.
Dude tell me about it. I had a girl tell me she was exited about the tswift engagement and I just went full asshole mode for some reason and was like "oh you gonna go to their wedding? Big friends with Taylor?" ... Idk why I decided to be a jerk but ... Yeah I still feel low-key guilty about that but she's said/done plenty worse so I probably should let that shit go.
Anyways, yeah I guess I'm saying sometimes I think people may not be totally aware in the moment of their dickishness so learn from me and just STFU if someone is happy for some dumb shit.
That's true although I was more just making a cheeky joke than anything else.
I'm no anthropologist or psychologist or anything but I'd venture a guess people used to be even more aloof in their love of their children. It has to be harder to form those bonds when you expect to just have some of your kids die by virtue of simply existing before modern medicine.
Seems to be only recently humans have really developed this societal belief in "childhood" and really even concerning ourselves with mental health as a concept.
You should look at a local university dental school as an option. They'll often do emergency dental care without payment up front and super affordable.
