I'm more disappointed in seeing the enshittification of the internet getting this bad.
Things behind paywalls or content generated for clicks, and all of it funneled through the same sites.
It wasn't always like this and I feel bad for younger generations who have to deal with this dessicated husk instead of finding what they might actually want or need.
Oh okay. I was coming at this from a lens of magical thinking within capitalism. I think I see where I went wrong - I was thinking along the lines of a movie like Finding Nemo having the opposite of the intended effect because consumers don't understand that poaching fish and buying toys that become pollutants is actually harmful. But that seems more like apathy and consumerism, yes.
And yeah, I'm so glad to have this community.
