  • And those people weren't wrong at the time. The iPod wasn't successful in its first few generations. It didn't become successful until several generations later after they changed a bunch of the problems with it. One of the aspects that makes Apple so successful is that they're willing to stick with a new product for many years while they keep working on figuring out what the device needs to become a good product.

  • I would guess (hope?) that the data sets they sell are somewhat anonymized, like listing people by an i.d. number instead of the person's name, and not including contact information like home address and telephone number. If so then the datasets sold to companies don't contain the personal information that hackers got in this security breach.

  • You're fixating on the word "wealthy" (indeed a bad word choice) and missing the point. - The only people who can afford to spend months in an unpaid internship are people who come from a family that's well-off enough that the person doesn't need a paycheck to feed and house themself. Poor people literally can't afford to not have a paycheck coming in.

  • I heard this same story before in the US in 2016. It doesn't matter what the polls say, you have to assume that your candidate is actually behind in the race and they're going to lose unless you do everything you can do right now to help them win.
