  • Enshittification is always the end of most online platforms that aren't federated because hosting costs money. Maintaining costs people. Which is more money. Especially as you scale out with popularity.

    First step is ADs. But ad blockers prevent that revenue stream.

    Second is monetization. (Reddit Gold or some premium BS)

    Third is selling out.

  • The recent Steam censorship debacle actually sort of opened me up to adult games.

  • Last game I played that fit this bill was 7 Sins

    This was back in the 2000s and I was super into The Sims. I still think the gameplay holds up well.

    Its not graphic with nudity but definitely a adults only game.

    The entire concept of the game is experiencing the 7 sins. Greed, lust, sloth, anger etc.

  • I absolutely agree but will caution against going down the rabbit hole of amazing coffee.

    I get locally roasted beans and grind them myself. I WFH so I can take a 15 minute break often to get a lovely cup of caffeine. The offset is getting coffee from anywhere else makes me sad at my cup. Tears don't help the flavor at all.

    The story is a fun twist on the overplayed "I died and got reborn in my favourite game" genre. The characters and growth is fantastic and dark.

    A hobby is something you do for fun. Selling products should be mainly to recoup costs and maybe reinvest.

    This whole "side hustle" crazyness makes people do stupid shit like buy China products and resell which floods low quality crap.

    I'm going to start a hobby of woodworking which has a massive up front equipment and labor cost. But it's a hobby so I might sell stuff to recoup material cost to keep making more.
