  • Aight criticizing NYT staff for having "ties to Israel" is coming awfully close to just saying "NYT has too many Jews". You do know that service in the IDF is mandatory for all Israelis right? Having a lot of Jewish staff didn't stop them from bringing down Weinstein. Leftists hate identity politics except for this one particular instance.

Also, literally the NYT headline right now: Anger Over Starvation in Gaza Leaves Israel Increasingly Isolated

"Global outrage at the Netanyahu government’s actions has grown since the war began, and the suffering of children in the enclave has accelerated the disdain."

  • Well, every person I've seen whipping along at 40+ mph on an ebike did not have full protective gear. Also compared to motorcycles ebikes have much thinner tires and lighter builds. Also you need a license to ride a motorcycle.

  • ...it's pretty funny

  • I feel like that's more of an antijoke but still funny :p

  • Have yall considered this is a joke

  • There's no way there's an entire spoon of plastic in my brain. I know that one study came to that conclusion but that study was wrong. Cmon people that's insane.

  • I believe that is just because chewing gum increases salivation which helps keep bacteria in check

  • I went to Bakersfield, CA for work several times. I was told by locals it has the worst air quality in the US and I'd believe it; it gets all rhe smog from the big cities nearby. You can't see to the horizon its just haze in every direction.

  • Hmm really? I can't say I've ever had sore abs after a non-ab-specific workout

  • I've heard most body builders don't really do much for abs. If you have low body fat and do whole body exercises like squats, deadlifts, or even stuff like bench press they should pretty much take care of themselves.

  • Nah it was a real e-ink kindle. It just wasn't for me i guess.

  • Nice try robot scum

  • "American planes, full of holes and wounded men and corpses took off backwards from an airfield in England. Over France, a few German fighter planes flew at them backwards, sucked bullets and shell fragments from some of the planes and crewmen. They did the same for wrecked American bombers on the ground, and those planes flew up backwards to join the formation.

The formation flew backwards over a German city that was in flames. The bombers opened their bomb bay doors, exerted a miraculous magnetism which shrunk the fires, gathered them into cylindrical steel containers, and lifted the containers into the bellies of the planes. The containers were stored neatly in racks. The Germans below had miraculous devices of their own, which were long steel tubes. They used them to suck more fragments from the crewmen and planes. But there were still a few wounded Americans, though, and some of the bombers were in bad repair. Over France, though, German fighters came up again, made everything and everybody good as new.

When the bombers got back to their base, the steel cylinders were taken from the racks and shipped back to the United States of America, where factories were operating night and day, dismantling the cylinders, separating the dangerous contents into minerals. Touchingly, it was mainly women who did this work. The minerals were then shipped to specialists in remote areas. It was their business to put them into the ground, to hide them cleverly, so they would never hurt anybody ever again."

  • I would say reading books. It's a long form activity that is a strong counter to the brain rot of scrolling and being mindlessly entertained by 100 different things for 10 seconds each. I find that when I read I have more vivid dreams which I think is definitely a sign that my brain has been fired up.

  • Same! I've read 1 (one) book in my life on a kindle and hated it. Physical books are just really cool, or maybe it's just preference because that's what I grew up with.

  • All I'm doing is pointing out that the above evidence is flawed. I can do that without a full-throated defense of the American police apparatus.

  • Those are cherrypicked numbers. You are comparing COVID America to pre-covid other countries. France dropped from 80% to 50% in 2020

  • People just split for irreconcilable differences all the time, they don't owe the public an explanation.
