  • ...that isn't what a recession means. I mean decreasing buying power is concerning but there are lots of times when that can happen when the economy is hot. In fact, a weakening economy can lead to deflation which increases buying power.

  • I think you are being loosey-goosey with your numbers. Nobody online seems to be able to get a stock zx6r above 160 mph. Sorry, I'll believe it when I see it... if making a high-performance 200-mile-range motorcycle was as simple as adding a bigger battery somebody would have done it by now. The demand is there. But I think the sacrifices to performance and added cost would make that kind of bike-if not physically impossible-at least impractical to build.

  • Yeahhhh that isn't a real bike though. I got excited but the more I look into it the more it looks like just vaporware. Assuming 4kg per kWh that's 80kg in the battery alone. No way can you make a whole motorcycle with a top speed of 200mph for 140kg minus the battery.

  • No I dont think you could double the range for 50kg, not even close. So, the can am pulse has a 9kwh battery, which weighs at least 50kg, but you can't just slap two of those battery packs on there and double the range because the weight of the bike just went up 30%. Also, you have to find space for another huge battery pack which will almost certainly increase drag.. Finally you are probably going to have to build the frame stronger which is another vicious circle. I'd bet you only get 60-70% extra range by doubling the size if the battery pack. Double it a second time and you might only get an additional 50% or less.

  • I mean... you can get a gas motorcycle with those specs for less than 2k in good condition used (I did exactly that in college). I still think it's a fair price for a new EV motorcycle though.

  • I don't think it's that simple. An EV motorcycle with a top speed of 120 and a range of, say, 250 miles would be as heavy and expensive as a compact car. The weight and expense of an EV, regardless of how many wheels it has, is all tied up in the batteries. Motorcycles work as a concept because they strip out all the weight and space of the chassis and gas engines have amazingly good range to weight ratios. EVs are awesome and I'd love to buy a motorcycle like this some day for city riding but they don't scale well for range.

  • I read to my fiance pretty much every night, we both really enjoy it. Or sometimes I will make up a story to her, like I will ask her "what do you want to hear a story about tonight" and she'll say "flying fish" or something... it's funny though it makes her fall asleep so quickly she never remembers what I was reading/talking about, but she says it's very comforting.

  • I have no idea what is going on with the Tischposting but I am glad you guys are having a good time

  • BY GOD

  • I think it is a trend that men in general are less inquisitive about each other's personal lives and discuss them less often, yes. I don't think that's an inherently good or bad thing but I think it's true. Also, it's worth noting that the "PMS mood swings are a social construct" theory is still listed as an "Alternative Theory" on the Wikipedia page and the handful of women I've talked to about it have all said no, the mood swings are definitely real.

  • I think it is funny. I enjoyed it because like most good humor, it is a playful exaggeration on patterns that exist on real life. Sometimes those patterns break along racial or gendered lines, and that's ok. You're not a bad person if you think it's funny. I get laughs out of lighthearted humor that pokes fun at men as well.

  • That's good news but how the heck was the turnout only 4%? What kind of weird special election was that?

  • Right, but most of their expenditures are not in the queries themselves but in model training. I think capital for training will dry up in coming years but people will keep running queries on the existing models, with more and more emphasis on efficiency. I hate AI overall but it does have its uses.

  • Release date pushed back another 6 months to add can-tripping mechanics

  • I agree he needs to stay in his lane but he is legitimately an expert regarding MMA

  • Yeah weight classes help for women (since it counteracts the fact that men are generally just bigger), but even pound for pound, looking at weightlifting records on Wikipedia men are about 25% stronger. For comparison that is a bigger strength difference than the difference between weightlifting weight classes. Obviously MMA is much more than a strength competition but that would be really hard to overcome. Also, men are quicker with hand and foot speed.

  • Sure man whatever makes you feel better. I mean I've been tapped out by girls plenty of times in BJJ I don't have a problem with it, but ask any woman that does martial arts and they'll tell you how annoying it is to spar with men because of how much stronger they are, like a lot of techniques just don't work. At the end of the day that is why women's sports are important.

  • From what I've read, there is no evidence that Messi continued taking HGH after adolescence. He certainly has not received an official PED lifetime pass or anything. There are a bunch of rumors around him, and I'm no conspiracy theorist but I wouldn't be stunned if ALL pro athletes are on PEDs (I remember NFL insiders talking about how if you could test reliably for HGH you would have to ban half the league).

I will keep my other opinions about trans athletes to myself because the left does enough infighting as it is.

  • I hate to quote Joe Rogan cause he's a tool but he summarized it well. A professional female martial artist can beat most men. A professional male martial artist can beat all women.
