  • I started using Zorin OS just to get out of Windows. Ngl I work in IT and the last thing I wanna do when I'm off work is to go home and do more tech-related stuff, so I just picked it for ease of use. Happy with it though!

  • "Whoever knows what is right but doesn’t do it is sinning. So then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin".

Just to quote the Bible that the Republicans love so much

  • You didn't know that Scandinavia has monarchies?

This dude isn't the crown Prince though, or even a royal

  • Do you mean Greenland or did they do some deal with Iceland?

  • Because generally speaking they aren't that hit. Sweden, for example, removed its wealth and inheritance tax reeal fast once it was introduced in the 90s.

Norway introduced such measures with their current government and suddenly you have a ton of wealthy Norwegians finding their way to Switzerland. So yes, you do see it happening, and the more you'll increase it the more likely they are to move and take their resources with them. I'm not arguing that we shouldn't gax the rich, of course, but that it needs to be globally coordinated (which it will never be)

  • It's sad because it does have to be a global movement. If my country decides to heavily increase taxes on the wealthy - as should be done - this is exactly what happens because they can just easily move to Switzerland or Monaco, or some other tax haven, and laugh us right in the face. It's the genius of capitalism

  • It's insane how much music, art, theatre, television etc still comes out of the UK, and how little they've capitalised on it - letting the Americans take all the initiative.

  • I'm (relatively) happy with Deutsche Welle (dw.com) and France24 as well

  • I usually use Deutsche Welle actually. Generally happy with it! Also available in English, of course

  • Definitely seen south Italians darker than me 😂 but coupled with "exotic looks" and the ability to actually tan it's definitely plenty to produce the "terrorist look" and stand out in Scandinavia

  • I think this is way too narrow. Following Marx? For sure, you're right.. but if you look at "Liberalism" - which can span anything from "taxes and government are literal hell" to "we support LGBT rights" - and "Conservatism" - which can span anything from Angela Merkel to Trump to follow-my-millenia-old-book-by-the-letter-or-I-will-murder-you - the word "Socialism" in the modern age can definitely contain nuances as well. For instance the main centre-left party in Denmark is called the "Social Democrats" then right to the left of it you have the "Socialist People's Party" - which is far less revolutionary than it sounds - and then you have a few other parties, including one identifying as "Communist" but which doesn't even really fight for any kind of revolution or the total elimination of class but recognises the requirement for collaboration and compromising when in power.

  • You know the price is naturally higher when materials are ethically sourced, right? That's kinda how it works..

  • Which owes to how gigantic the Chinese market is. They now have a 5% market share for new cars in Europe - which this article is about. It doesn't matter if they top global sales just because there are so many Chinese buyers

  • Brand recognition is important, but it's a dangerous game operating mostly on government subsidies. Once you have established low prices it's hard to reverse it

  • Do they really want me to be trapped? 😮 might go to El Salvador, but trapped?

I'm brown with a thick beard, so I'm used to being "naturally suspicious and prone to explosion" whenever I am within a 5 km distance of an airport. Yet US airports would scare the shit out of me

  • I don't know that they're out to make money though. A lot of the Chinese manufacturers are now struggling due to the price war they instigated themselves. Huge production surplus but they pushed down the price so much they hardly make any money

  • How common are these in Denmark? 😮 don't feel like I've seen one, but then again it's not like I study the make before I get in the bus

  • Not even sure it's that true though. Afaik BYD is only the 14th most popular car in Denmark, and European brands have risen from around ~28% last year to ~40% this year. Sure, Chinese carmakers have had some growth - but we're talking in the order of something between 2 - 4% of the market. Might be more popular in other countrues

  • Heard it can be hard / expensive if you need to order spare parts and stuff like that. Anything to that?
