This reflects my calls very closely. The interns don’t seem to answer anymore and my messages probably sound like different stages of grief/loss. And it is. I weep for us.
Do you think they care about function? Are you not already aware that destruction and mayhem are the points? These a-holes are not here to serve or help the public, they are here to cause as much damage to the US (and US interests) as possible. The wrecking-ball of Speed and Confusion are among the tactics used. The plan seems to be: once the corpse is bled and torn asunder, it'll get divvied out to the other richer a-holes (donor class) waiting for their cut whilst the US as a superpower is severely diminished or wiped out. Unfortunately for all involved, it appears to be working.
No, I would search for your motherboard model and forums to see what situations might match yours so that you might glean something useful as far as settings go. A quick check revealed nothing useful that stands out to me. Resetting all electrical connections was the lone useful tip. (The reddit link blocked me, lol. Fine) Perhaps more detailed (or different) search terms would produce better results.
I think you've taken the right steps to this point. Another CPU to test with would prove useful (though your original should suffice). Or another board to test this CPU in. Perhaps the shop you procured this one from has one or the other? Otherwise, I would pursue replacement.
What motherboard? What cpu did you have? Is this new Ryzen 5600 on the hardware list for the motherboard? If so, are there any voltage, stepping or other settings (listed in the manual) required to make it run stably?
Make sure the new cpu is clean with no potential shorts from anything. Also ensure good heatsink contact. If you’ve done all the normal and necessary steps then yes it might be a bad cpu, but they aren’t frequent failure items in my experience. Disagreeable conditions for the cpu is more commonly the culprit. Engineering sample cpus are the most fickle, but even some normal batch cpus might sometimes require a bit more (or less) juice or a system tweak.
I’m sorry, do you have a TLDR for your comment? ;)
Am kidding of course. I appreciate your examples and I do understand some have legitimate issues with long format media. However I was speaking in quite broad brushstrokes and still feel the general tenor of attention spans have gotten shorter and shorter. TikTok is but one example. Twitter is another. There are certainly more examples, but I won’t belabor the point. We’ve come a long way from the bards having to memorize entire stories. I do appreciate your comment.
38 minutes is too long? What a world we have when folks cannot pay attention longer than a tiktok vid. Perhaps that isn’t you, but I cringe that we have to think about that. No offense intended.
TC is a treasure, btw. Go back and view some of his other content. Not too long ago I watched his dishwasher video as I had just installed a new one. I learned quite a lot and I assumed I knew most things about them. He also explains things so thoroughly that my mother was able to follow along and appreciate the information. His demeanor helps as well. Love the guy. Thanks for the post!
You can do it! Just futz around with Lemmy on your phone whilst casually watching. Then you can say you did it. That’s how I handled it. I barely remember the shitshow now.
