At this point I wouldn't trust my child in a public school if I could even have one. My time there was horrible and it's only gotten worse for everyone I've known younger than me.
It's like being in a prison, check points and metal detectors, everything you do or say as a student is scrutinized and you learn nothing but how to be a good little nationalist.
I said it over a decade ago and I still believe it now, our schools need to be reformed in their entirety. I learned more from meeting someone in college that valued knowledge than I believed ever mattered in grade school.
And when I started to meet people from abroad I was aghast that university existed, and they likewise that I never attended one.
We don't need cops. In the US they aren't even obligate to protect you. Just 'enforce'
Not to mention their racist, warrior-coded and instigative training that they only need like 6 weeks for to carry a gun and end your life with no repercussions.
I have never in my life been in a situation where a police officer did anything but make the situation worse or threatened to ruin my life.
We need to use more common sense and protect our neighbors and communities. Bad actors need not apply to strong networks of local support.
I've been thinking about this stuff since I moved to a place where nights are very dark and people use high beams much more liberally (and inconsiderately)
It's it possible to have some sort of lumen-activated glass tinting? Something to protect the receiving end?
If all else fails I suppose you can DIY another one...
