  • I have had the train thing happen to me. There were no warning lights where the road crossed over. Fortunately it was a coal train going very slowly. Scared the living daylights out of me. It's been 30 years since that happened and I'm still neurotic about railroad crossings with poor visibility.

  • My MIL used to work for a dentist. One year he encouraged? required? the employees to hand out toothbrushes on Halloween. My hubby begged his mom not to do it, to just fib and tell her boss she had. But... she went through with it. They got egged that night & their pumpkin was smashed. She fucked around and found out.

  • They're packed full of vitamins and good for you

  • Sounds like 'modediagnose' could be translated as "fad diagnosis" maybe?

It's a problem with health providers here too.

  • You sound salty about their take on amazeballs.

  • And even if it isn't, then you'll have Swiss cheese.

  • I would watch only to find out if they are secretly renting out their spaces on Sunday as holy ghost kitchens.

  • And with no more competition, they'll go all fancy. Makes one wonder where you'd be able to get a decent burger anymore.

  • "Give-a-shitter"

    Lol

    I may borrow this.

  • I find it useful when the fly won't land, I can usually swat it in midair. It's also my backup weapon when I go to spray hornets nests.

  • Kitty-up!

  • Isn't that essentially one of the features of Discord?

It's not for me. I prefer text so I can think out my words.

  • May he live long enough to become the thing he hates

  • Did you just "all lives matter" me? I do care about all animals, but hunting species that are barely clinging to existence is the topic of assholery in my post.

  • Uh, are we talking about pencils or poo?

  • Jimmy John's

The owner has been photographed with big game "trophies" of elephants and a leopard.

    TW: deceased animals

    Snopes fact check: true

This guy pisses me off so much. Hunting like this (where it's private land, the staff do all the work of finding you a prize, & they basically point you at the endangered animal when it's time to pull the trigger) is so obscene, grotesque, unnecessary, and self-fellating. Fuck this dude in particular.

  • I normally cut up the dogs into the mac, and no buns obv. Childhood staple right there.

NGL, I still make it sometimes when I'm on my own for dinner. But now I use kielbasa.

  • I found a neat one today. So the thing that's currently working for me wears off right? Therapist suggests that I rotate through my bag of tricks periodically when I start to spin my wheels. The thing is, I don't exactly recognize when this is starting to happen, only when it's full blown productivity breakdown.

I told her that if I put a sticky note on my desk to remind me to switch up coping systems that I would become blind to it eventually. I said I would do calendar reminder for every x weeks, but the reminder would be so regular that I'd be predicting it and ignoring it.

She said you need one that goes off randomly but still roughly once a month.

A few test runs of apps on the Play store later and I found one that is minimalist, yet I can customize the range of minutes/ hours/ days for the interval of recurrence. I can remind myself to switch procrastination tools, to water the plants, go through that stack of mail...

We'll see how long this lasts or if i start ignoring these too. Hopefully they'll be novel enough to work for a little while.

The app is "Remind - Random Notifications"

  • I have a generic pair that were basically my shoes for chores around the yard (the yard is marshy in places). I rarely wore them to the store or out in general, but found them really comfortable.

Well, I go and break my big toe a few weeks ago. I have a velcro splint on it, and bought one of those post surgery shoes. It was clunky and awful. The best thing about it was the boxy toe area which helped keep me from stubbing my toe again.

I tried for maybe 2 days to wear it, but then I remembered my crocs. And they have been the perfect toe protectors, plus not being awkward to walk in.
