Highly dependent on the degree to which it's contagious. But you're right, especially considering we're looking at one of the worst flu seasons in more than a decade currently. If all flu cases were 50% lethal that'd be 10-15 million deaths.
It's really difficult to tell to what level and for what end they're trying to collapse the country. Is the goal just a grift? Is it to secure permanent corporate governance? Is it to collapse the US for techno feudalism? Is it to utterly annihilate the US on behalf of a foreign nation? All of the above by different individuals?
I swear they're going to argue the founders themselves misinterpreted the language of the constitution and the amendments are all invalid and no longer applicable.
The big event will be someone with regular human flu getting bird flu, giving the virus opportunities to swap DNA segments. If it gets the transmissibility of our standard influenza and the lethality of bird flu, it'll be a rough six months to a year before we have vaccines for it as it rips through our population.
Especially considering flu vaccines are made with eggs, and this disease is currently thoroughly decimating our egg producing livestock.
Between this and Gaza (and everything else), I really honestly don't think we have seen a person in all of human history who checks more boxes of being the antichrist.
Like fuck, he literally brings pestilence and disease with him.
We should fire him into an irretrievable orbit with enough food, water, and oxygen for months. Put cameras everywhere inside the capsule and live stream his descent into madness as he runs out of supplies.
This is why I've been shouting for nearly two decades that it doesn't matter how benign a religion is, or if it brings people peace and positivity. Any organization which incubates the tendency toward magical thinking is an existence level threat to our survival.
I'm so sorry that happened. I had a similar issue with the IRS where they basically forgot that I had paid them when resolving a tax issue from several years before. And I had lost the letter they sent me at the time stating everything was resolved.
It is currently the beginning of Feb and our normal weather here is a few days of snow, usually a few inches, usually at least one large to shut everything down (like 10+"). Overcast. In the 20s and 30s (F).
I went skiing on Saturday and have never seen so much literally bare ground outside of the very early or very very late season.
I went to a protest today. Parked a distance away and walked. It was 68°. It feels like the end of April. We got almost no snow - only like a foot unseasonably early in the middle of November. The wildfire season this year is going to be rough, and the summer will be brutal.
They "broke a law" by commiting a civil offense like speeding or not renewing your cars registration. Which is usually followed by a fine and an order to get your papers in order.
We typically need those people here illegally because they're contributing to the economy. Way more often than not they pay taxes, but collect no benefits. So the best path forward is really basically to offer citizenship to anyone who is employed, residing here and has been paying taxes for X period of time.
This is just a modern iteration of the book HOLES, and it takes place in a landfill instead of a dry lakebed.
