  • The idea is that you have to make an active choice to oppose them. Most people in the "Nazi Party" were just there because they wanted a job. If you didn't join the party it was harder to get good jobs.

  • It sounds like you just don't understand how hard photography was in the 1920s. Cameras were heavy, even the film was heavy. Carrying it all the way there is already an accomplishment. Plus, the film plates were glass and could break on the way back, ruining a photo.

He only had like 50 shots on a trip. He spent days or weeks setting up the exact timing and location for a specific shot. You have to get it right the first time and you can't see the end result until you develop the picture. It's like saying, "Anyone can shoot a basketball. LeBron James isn't anything special." Technically true, but obviously meaningless.

  • This isn't software, it's a car. It's highly regulated. NHTSA doesn't care if it's a software issue.

  • $1.2 billion would be a very small bank. But also, that money is not able to be used by Starbucks. It's not "earned" yet. I don't know the details on what they can invest it in, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has to just sit in a bank account earning very little.

Even a small bank would be able to invest the money much better.

  • The funny thing is, lots of luxury goods are not priced based on costs, but on demand. That means that if the rich get lower taxes, the values of expensive art and fine wines just go up to match the extra money they have. They can't buy more.

It's the opposite with things the middle class needs. If more people can afford a washing machine, costs can actually decrease because of better manufacturing. There are many washing machine manufacturers, so there's actually some competition.

  • "Brown people"? There are plenty of brown people around the world who don't practice arranged marriage. Also, it was very common in Europe prior to the Enlightenment (I may be off on the exact timing).

It has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with human rights, as the other person said.

  • we really didn't understand that this was a medical issue

There are more things like this every day. So many people are diagnosed with mild ADHD or Autism later in life. Whereas before they were just "eccentric" or "unique".

  • But you can leave. That's a big difference between the two. If you feel bad, you can just sit down for a rest. I'm sure you got lunch too.

I don't know why you're trying to say your job was the same as a prison cell.

  • The funny part is how little the average person cared about that. These dumb articles just highlight that.

  • No, I think you are confusing the two kinds of trusts: a revocable trust means you still own the money or property, an irrevocable trust means you don't own it anymore. Either you "give it away" in an irrevocable trust (which can't be "dissolved"), or you don't give it away (in a revocable trust).

You are describing putting something in a revocable trust, which is not spending it or giving it away. It's closer to just putting a label on it: "this money is for charity". You don't get a tax deduction unless you put the money in a irrevocable charitable trust or the charity actually receives the money (from any source, trust, whatever).

  • That's giving the money away. Either you are still controlling the trusts, or you gave the money to the trusts.

  • I don't know if you understand. People are donating and volunteering, for Kamala Harris. You don't want more participation, You just want people to support your personally chosen candidate (who remains nameless).

  • I thought you were going to say:

"Is that really the best we can hope for? 'Working on social and political causes to help see people and policies you like make it to the top'?"

And I was like "yeah, it is the best we can hope for".

  • I heard that they surrendered because Kamala Harris was going to personally lead Seal Team 6 and "capture" them like Bin Laden. Lots of people are saying it.

She's so tough the cartels just call her "La Mala", "the bad one".

  • Lining up and shooting was the best way to use inaccurate muskets. One guy can't shoot accurately at all, plus it takes lots of time to reload after each shot.

So you line up 20 dudes and have them shoot 5 or 10 at a time. That makes it more likely to hit something with each volley, and protects the guys who are reloading. The main skill for soldiers wasn't aiming, it was reloading quickly.

  • most people appear to support these transfers around here as long as it is their "team" getting them.

I mean, that's what politics is. You make a good point about "Reason" being a crappy source, but handouts to different industries are intended to help those industries. That's the point.

If you don't like it: vote, volunteer, donate, etc.

  • If you're in Georgia, vote.

  • If you're in Texas, vote.

  • That's another reason why he shouldn't be president. He's too old. Kamala Harris was a child in the 70s.
