  • Not much within the legal window. Maybe petition for its removal.

Unrelated, but I believe an axe and a mask usually work pretty well on most electronic devices. Driving out of town, walking back in on a non flock path, ensuring you have a “limp” as well as non descriptive/logoless clothes, and ensuring you have no devices on you, are all great general opsec tips as well.

  • It’s a bit of a bitch, and they can kill it at the drop of a hat.

  • Eh?

You take excess green power and use it to generate gasoline. You use that gasoline in a combustion engine. Where is the extra carbon coming from which makes this non neutral?

  • I could see this being useful in places where day/night cycle is skewed to prolonged periods of each. Or perhaps holding excess power from summer into winter since days are so much shorter.

But yeah, this doesn’t really seem like the best way to store grid power.

  • Gasoline is a very high energy material. You can put it into anything (that works with gas) in seconds and store it for months.

Is this a perfect solution? No. But it’s technically possible to achieve carbon neutrality on an ICE vehicle with zero modification, you’ve just got ~50% loss on the solar you collected.

  • Eh? You don’t need open internet for drone attacks.

  • I mean, if you want to promote division within a country, ensuring that countries citizenry has access to your propaganda is pretty important.

  • Iirc Cloudflare sells domain names at cost.

  • Look, I’ve had a random person walk into my house uninvited before, and having a recording of it was useful. Just because you don’t like the idea of one of the examples given, doesn’t mean these devices have no use.

  • I mean, it isn’t even to prove it’s something you can do. This was done years ago as a proof of concept already. So he’s literally just doing something that’s already been done, and calling it art.

Like walking into an elevator, pushing all the buttons, and going “art!”

  • Avoid the mindset that your kid might sneak out, or an unwanted guest might have shown up?

Ignorance may be bliss, but it certainly doesn’t stop shenanigans from happening.

  • Only problem with the Ubiquiti offering iirc is that it offers no storage, you need a controller with storage installed.

  • Just, uh, don’t turn on dark mode then?

  • It’s damn near impossible to know an image is ai generated unless the metadata clearly states it, or it comes from a known generation domain.

A human may (or may think they can) be able to determine if something is AI, but it would be impossible to detect everything, even if they went so far as to train an algorithm to do so… which would kinda defeat the purpose.

  • I assume the answer is “yes”

  • There are very few cases where this would ever come up without your consent, and fewer still it would matter, so you’re likely over thinking it.

The only case I’m aware of is being a pilot. ADHD is a limiting factor, and while you can still become a pilot, it becomes harder with more hoops to jump through. Stimulant medication is also completely off the table if you’re a pilot.

I am sure there are similar professions out there. But barring those, you’ll likely never be forced to disclose your diagnosis at all.

  • This is a weird response to a vote. If they told you the good, you’d complain they didn’t tell you the bad. If they told you the bad, you’d complain they were skewing one way or the other.

  • Very old comment and I’m sure you don’t care any longer, but yes. Any VM inherently includes performance loss if you’re aiming for “peak performance” but it can often be negligible when done properly.

  • I’m not trying to be a dick, but that word doesn't work there. It sounds like you’re trying to say “society moving towards full automation” but there isn’t a word that would quite slot into your sentence to mean that.

Sometimes you just gotta use more words.
