Lithuanian 30+ year-old shitposter who works as a programmer.

  • The ”C” in "AI" stands for "competence".

  • Yeah, that part is exceptionally nasty and serves very little point in the story.

  • Same, but I bought the Culture novels. They were fine, except the ugly parts.

  • Yes, women can't do the thing they do everywhere else in the world.

  • Lemmy guess, part of the delivery cost was tariffs?

  • Something something The North Crusade something

  • I just say that I'm the worst.

  • Most Latvians could tell Russian and Ukrainian apart, having lived around Russians for years.

  • Latvian does crime

Turns out they're actually a Russian from Latvia.

    Every. Damn. Time.

    Aleksandrs Vabiks

Okay, so an actual deranged Latvian this time, which is pretty rare.

Vabiks has a history of aggressive behavior toward Ukrainian speakers. He has posted photos wearing a T-shirt reading “Russia in my heart” and a matryoshka tattoo on his arm.

He studied at the London College of Computing and Management Sciences and Canterbury Christ Church University and has reportedly worked as a cook.

Great, just another idiot who loves Russia but chooses to live in the west.

  • Many countries did austerity in 2010 and yet some came out better off while UK in particular did not.

  • First they came for the Communists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Jew

    Then they came for me

And there was no one left

    To speak out for me

  • "Is she tsundere or does she just hate me?"

  • Sometimes it divides, sometimes it unites, sometimes she speaks words of warning, sometimes he advises on appetite. Its prophesies are confusion, their whispers confound.

  • I don't think that people who could run it well exist anywhere.

  • In Lithuania, healthcare e-services went down after the basement where the servers were kept got flooded in a rainstorm. They went down for a couple of weeks.

  • What access does the average Russian citizen have to unbiased and truthful reporting?

At some point you no longer need reporting. Direct observation and word of mouth becomes enough to paint the picture.

For those citizens with that knowledge, what actions can they take to organize some semblance of a resistance?

What they need to do is a general strike.

  • not-so-fun fact: animals held in captivity tend to experience far more anxiety than out in the wild. Having predators chase you is less stressful than being locked in a box with little to threaten you.

Some postulate that civilization is just humans keeping themselves in captivity.

  • Always has been (in countries that do not celebrate Halloween). The prices of grave candles seem okay for now though.
