  • The funny thing about Elon going to war, is that Elon will lose. Fantastically so. The ketamine must still be flowing hard. 5 years ago Trump's base hated his cars. It's only when Elon hitched his cart to maga that they started to like him. An unsold cyber trucks are in mall parking lots and his stocks globally are tanking.

    So, now Tesla's stock is in the shitter. Liberals hate him and don't want his cars. And now the GOP will flip on him and also not buy his cars. He's also now going to wreck his government contracts with SpaceX. Mars will never happen for him. And now Twitter will take an even bigger hit. Those ai protections can be drafted to exclude him and his companies too.

    He will absolutely damage trump and split a few people off, but he was in a losing position to begin with. Even with damning evidence and the persuasive media skills and charisma of a much more talented individual, he is so fucking cooked. Without that... Well, now there is only one psychopathic narcissist in the leadership role. So that's nice.

  • I grew up on well water. I still have well water as an adult. Finally swapping to a prescription grade flouride toothpaste is the only thing that has gotten my cavities in check. It's been a struggle my entire life.

    Brushing twice a day did not matter. No sweets did not matter. I have basically no candy or sweet drink habits at all.

    I can directly attribute my lifetime of cavity problems to non flourinated water. My dentist agrees.

    This is going to wreck America's health.

    However what you presented are statistics for American citizens.

    If you were to include the roughly 3 percent of people living in the USA that are undocumented, that pushes it below the 51 percent "most people" number. those 12 million people may or may not have a valid passport.

    As a side point, the actual number of undocumented residents is hard to pin down. 3 percent is an estimate, but still a significant number.

    I would say that every public radio station has little faith in Congress at this point. Having worked myself in public radio for several years, I would say that their concern is completely justified.

  • My lead feeder makes 75k a year. That's more than I take home for myself. I personally sponsored him to get a visa, as I have for over 20 of my other employees over the past five years.

    The lower positions take home 160 a day to start. But there is a pay scale based on time employed, and vacation days accrue and improve based on tenure.

    These are my employees, but they are also my neighbors and my friends. I go to their birthday parties and their kids graduations. The quincienetas and baby showers.

    I know whose hard work and sweat makes my money, and I work along side them every day. I appreciate and try to return that in kind. We are all in this world together.

  • I have a dairy farm. A few years ago I asked my employees if we should add a third shift and do 8 hours instead of 12. They work hard, is seemed like a reasonable idea.

    They hated that I even brought it up. They want money and they want to work. I was specifically told by one of my leads that if we were to go to 8 hours, they would work a shift and a half. I'm paying over the average rate for dairy work, and everyone gets vacation days based on tenure. And 90 percent of my employees will work their vacation days and take the paycheck. They don't want less hours. They have bills to pay and family to support and shorter hours are less money. Same as most Americans I know. I get it.

    I'm not saying it is everyone, but the guys I work with have incredible work ethic and a priority to make money and get ahead in life. And I'm all for that.

    What I'm tired of is my people being scared of American politics and the potential for their work and investment in this country to get ripped away on the whim of some scared Karens and the policies maga has enabled. I hate it.
