Is it possible to get these pi's for that price now though? Because I member 2 years ago looking at paying rediculous scalper pricing for a pi to run octoprint on, and by the grace of my brother having a spare one was able to avoid spending 150 bucks on scalper bullshit.
Shit, does anyone remember battery power tools from 20 years ago? 5 screws in and they start to die. Now Milwaukee tool itself is essentially an industrial battery pack manufacturer.
I have had a handful of that generation golf over the years that I have modified. It would be absurdly simple to drop an electric motor into that thing if the right kit existed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this but I remember reading a comment on here a while back saying that to get that kind of energy jammed into a battery that quickly you'd need a cable as thick as a telephone pole to keep it from glowing like a toaster coil.
It absolutely boggles the fucking mind that none of these genius CEOs have been pushing for a electric Ford maverick sized pickup after seeing the runaway success that has been. Doubly now seeing that sales of the lightning have plateaud. But I guess none of them want to be the first ones to prove the point that you can build a good reasonably sized useful electric car and make money on it if you are willing to take a hair less margin on each one.
That's great, but a hundred bucks says they'll be ad free for those subscribers for 5 years or so and then they will creep back in, then you'll need a Facebookplus+ subscription to get rid of the ads.
Sure do this. But maybe at the same time see where these western manufacturers are profiting excessively and get that under control too because these electric cars are too damn expensive. At least here in the US they are.
