This was always the goal when they started adding screens. Screens should always be viewed as ad delivery mechanisms especially if internet connected. That goes triple for devices that absolutely don't need a screen. Like a fucking fridge. They will slow boil the process at first. But they'll do it.
Thanks for a productive reply. I'm having trouble finding actions Maduro has taken since election (looking for diaz-canel now). Do you have any sources you find reputable that I could read about either? All my searches want to talk about maduro and trump and it's annoying.
As prone as I can be to saying anyone trump hates is good, it could be dictator hating dictator so I'd like to know what is the case with some backing instead of what I've seen in passing.
I typically get info from from AP, al jazeera, DW, and some smaller independent groups. Usually can piece together reality of controversial things from pieces of those.
My only counterpoint so far is that an election doesn't mean the leader isn't a dictator. Trump is a relevant exhibit a for that.
That's the core of my point though. Once you add depth it's not 2d space anymore (even though the screen is 2d, the represented field is 3D) and y becomes depth.
IMO you can never be too suspicious of companies. Especially ones interested in your data.
For your keypad, if it is zwave only you are probably fine. But if it has any WiFi capability let alone requirements as most do, then no. You can control your network but if you aren't hooked into AWS then you can't alter settings, and assuming you get sidewalk turned off, I would still expect it will likely piggyback data through sidewalk anyways because fuck consumer line go up.
I do use CAD software but always have my items resting on an x/y plane with z being height. I do some 3d printing and basic cad designs, so z being elevation still makes sense there.
A little but it's enshittified in other ways
