I'm against doxxing people for silencing individuals, but hearing it was a chat of a bunch of pro-Israel lobbyists does not make me sympathetic, and makes me question how this law will be implemented.
Addendum: this article from Jan 16 last year seems to confirm that this group pressed legal action to get the ABC journalist sacked, with actual excerpts in it. The names are not censored which seems to go against the Reddit comment saying any identifying info being redacted.
I've been wondering wtf it was doing this whole time. I'd been toggling it from time to time for what feels like weeks and I've never noticed what the hell it was changing.
That's an interesting point. We are seeing a similar kind of issue with search engines losing effectiveness due to search engine optimization on websites.
So it is possible that generative AI will become enshittened.
Lol, yeah. If generative AI text stays as shitty as it is now, then this whole discussion moot. Whether that will be the case has yet to be seen. What is an indisputable fact, though, is that right now is the worst that generative AI will ever be again. It's only able to improve from here.
I don't think most people will care, so long as their NPC interaction ends up compelling. We've been reading stories about people who don't exist for centuries, and that's stopped no one from sympathizing with them - and now there's a chance you could have an open conversation with them.
Like, I think alot of us assume that we care about the authors who write the character dialogs but I think most people actually choose not to know who is behind their favorite NPCs to preserve some sense that the NPC personality isn't manufactured.
Combine that with everyone becoming steadily more lonely over the years, and I think AI-generated NPC interactions are going to take escapism to another level.
Hasn't evolutionary psychology been heavily debunked at this point?
I think it's much easier to say that dudes have it hammered into their heads that girls are bad at games, so when they underperform and a girl is on their team, they feel emasculated. This isn't too far off from when dudes end up losing their 'bread winner' status in their relationship. They were told they had explicit traits to exhibit and they failed to do so, so it hits them in their self esteem. Classic fragile masculinity.
Patriarchal conditioning makes way more sense than "caveman brain HATE competing with woman!".
Working on reading up on this.
Saw some news articles claiming the group was 'Zionist', so I was interested in getting an idea what they were talking about in the transcript.
This is the closest I've gotten so far- possibly trying to get an ABC journalist fired for sharing posts covering attrocities against Palestinians. also doesn't sound like a support group or something, but a pro-Israel lobbying group (post that inked to it)
That's also only one piece covering it, though.

Addendum: blog posted in r/JewsofConscience talking about the transcript Comment from the post States all names and information were redacted before the transcript was published, and that the group existed solely for astroturfing.
