  • Good point, China alone can get India driving in EV's . One nagging thought Is that if US can't have dominance by alliance, market control or coercion it will try to create dependence through war. If the world is at war, it knocks all directly involved parties way down the economic ladder, needing financial and industrial support from the US. Removes competition, creates highly indebted dependants , not unlike WW2. Speaking to some old timers , it's clear that whenever the US economy falters they export war. Why would this be any different. Perhaps what we're seeing with abandoning Europe to deal with Russia is a setup for EU to get economically degraded again. But if US is really trying to corner China as they say, leaving Europe vulnerable is counter productive as China will benefit.

  • US is so incredibly short sighted. Everyone is competing for the few viable, demographically supported consumption markets. After global retaliation, US goods world wide will no longer be competitive. China, Europe, S.Korea and Japan will happily replace the US market share. He should have stuck to painting his balls orange and eating crayons.

  • Cut off a limb to save the body. Radiation contamination is a pretty effective ground denial strategy- make those eastern oblasts uninhabitable for a 100years. That would afford some time for Russia to turn itself inside out.

    I'm not suggesting it's any planners first choice, but it would certainly protect the border from further ground invasions.

    They were counting on US support so they played nice. If Europe fails to do anything meaningful we might see UKR do something incalculable.

    UKR knows that the only way to stop Putin is to match his posture. They have openly stated last year that they should get a nuke since US is unreliable.

  • Trump, like every arogant POS has overestimated his strength. Europe can and will enter the conflict as Russia has proven itself to be an existential threat. NATO is dead, but EU has been planning for this. I wouldn't be surprised if UKR already has or will obtain a nuke and put on a show of force . Nuking Russian troops on its own territory would be fine- and provide ground denial to the Russians.

It'll be bad in short term , but longterm it'll be a boom, diversifying your trade partners is never a bad thing, and our over reliance on the US has only made us complacent..   • Yea there are some pretty cool ones these days that resemble a blackberry. Checkout the " t-deck plus" by lilygo. The repeater nodes could be cheap solar powered remotes setup at high vantage points, wouldn't need too many to get city coverage given the line of sight , drone drop'em on a couple of highrise rooftops and off you go. ..in theory.
