  • I suspect a lack of critical thinking. Respond first, ask questions later or not at all.

  • I keep an old evaporative unit in the shed just in case. It only needs 70 watts and can thus run for quite a long time off a car battery or similar. Add a basic camping solar panel and you're more or less set for the day as long as you have water and don't live in a really high humidity place.

  • It's already Thursday here in Australia.

  • My moto g84 has most of that I think. The only things that let it down are the mediocre camera and the speaker volume that jumps from just a little too quiet to rather loud. For $AU300 I'm quite happy.

  • I'm using Fing 10.3.0 - a version before it was enshittified. Not sure where I got the apk from.

  • I don't update apps until they break. Never know when an update is going to enshittify an app. (Fing, etc.)

  • I'll have another look. Didn't seem to be an option to have it on a Windows guest when I installed it.

  • Same.

The lack of graphics acceleration is a bit painful though.

VirtualBox won't work on Fedora 40 AFAICT, and once installed it can't be uninstalled.

  • On the plus side, #5 can relax at last.

  • I don't think mbin existed at that time. For a long time I was on kbin on desktop and Artemis on Android. Artemis kinda evaporated, and eventually I settled on Voyager, which meant I needed a lemmy.world amount. I still used kbin on desktop but it became less and less reliable.

  • A shame about kbin. It's where I landed as well but eventually had to move to lemmy.world.

I wonder if there would be enough data on archive.org to rebuild your community? I guess not given users who moved might not have kepth the same usernames.

  • Blu tak over the speaker hole mutes them nicely too.

  • .. and suddenly Netflix disappears from it.

  • Up next: mouse cartridges.

  • It is, but if you're in transit, watching on a potato phone or have bad eyesight it might be hard to read the word SmartyKat.

  • Used to run it on my z80 back in the day, before moving on to WordPerfect 5.1.

  • Well, the Irish do call them bullets. Guess they're ahead of the curve.

  • No, but VNC will work. It just doesn't have sound.

  • Just use a shit stirrer.
