I am very typical earthling. I like earth food and earth drink and earth sports and earth media. Im all about earth things because I am so typical and earthling. so typical as to be very boring and not worth investigating or looking into because I am definately from earth.

  • Im sorta surpised as even when I was in high school video games were something that was considered nerdy. Most had played them but it was considered a bit like comic books, cartoons, and toys. Something you grew out of. I would expect it to not be a major share until I am well over 55+. I though at first maybe it was just people getting new into it like mobile but the article says they make up 23% of the pc gamers and 11% of console (heck I don't even play console anymore). I wonder if some were influence by their kids?

  • came to say this. One of the filters seems meaningless.

  • I mean if i get to maximum out of pocket its a bit over 7 grand now which tends to be about the same as my monthly cost on the insurance for the year and one kid will raise my monthly cost from spouse only to family (although keep em coming as after that they are all free). One decent surgery can pretty much push to max out of pocket. Of course that is max out of pocket for what is covered. Like this machine that automatically ices and puts pressure on an area and is proven to have better outcomes from surgery is not covered (one of the many health insurance chicken contests. sure we will pay more because you will have more issues if you don't get it but you will have to live with lower quality of life). Anyway just some perspective on cost because while not 22k it can get up there.

  • Its just so funny how we literally have the most insider folks that are the most responsible for the state of the country walking around like they are oppressed and need to rebel against the repression. The repression they speak of is of course enforcement of laws around corruption or fighting said corruption.

  • This is outright wrong. Physical attractiveness is way bigger of a deal in women than men and there is a lot of hypocrisy around it. I had a friend in high school who was, without beating around the bush, fat. He would bemoan how women would not give him a chance because he was fat but then he himself would not go after women of his same build. He preferentially went after thin hot women. Worse he was when he finally was in a realtionship with a woman of equivalent hotness he started one up with her hotter friend. Im way hotter male wise than he was and he could not figure out how my more sincere approach to relationships was likely a bigger factor than my relative looks. Now that is anecdotal but I have a second hand thing to. It was a news piece and I don't have the reference so take my word or not but it was a study on tips between male and female servers. They both had to be cordial and pleasant and provide good service but controlling for those factors they each had one factor that would increase the tips. For women it was looks. For men it was making their customer laugh.

  • I don't believe they are intelligent now but I do believe we evolved as basically pattern matching machines.

  • is this written into the law as covered before deductible and maximum out of pocket?

  • im not sure I would call the last point anxiety. As existential threats go its not like nuclear war. Which might or might not happen based on our actions. Its something that is definately happening and extreme good action by us might mitigate it but we by and large have been taking worse actions or at best our beneficial vs non beneficial actions cancel each other out. Heck even without climate change pollution alone has the same ending.

  • Definately not me. Im cheering it.

  • It reminds me a lot (the voting situation) with articles on how people don't like obamacare. Yeah people are not wild about it but they really don't like the situation before it. Its half a loaf and I don't want to go back to no loaf but yes indeed I would like a universal health care full loaf.

  • there are a few l33t moves like voting in primaries and local elections and judicial. It does not make it great but every little bit counts. Its sucks. Your not voting on if you are sodomized or not but if there is going to be lube or not. Not voting means no lube.

  • I don't even get it honestly.

  • yeah. my remark was mostly flippant and sarcastic. The law should not exist but it is good technology has some options. Still its sad we have to hack around bad laws.

  • I had a friend who was such a master of how much he could abuse the machines.

  • once again I was doin it way before it was cool. I gots the two versions now.

  • boy this terminology is wierd. I think advances are always without consent. They are first moves. Assuming they mean making advances after already recieving some sort of no then its more like that is a sign of toxic masculinity.

EDITED: yeah reading it I see they mean advances like advancing from a stage so that makes more sense. still seems a bit chicken and egg to me though.

  • when you get the prompt at my work their is an option that says you don't have your phone on you and it leads to the old way of doing it.

  • ill add the /s for the last line. though it might be complicated since the military being the biggest user is not the sarcasm but the followup line is.

  • company. the biggest buyer of credits was the us military. look how green we are by our reports /s.

  • oh yeah. in the end you have a system that creates artificial value by requiring the sacrifice of real value. heres one credit for burning a barrel of oil. oh now you have to burn 2 to get a credit, now its 4, now its 8.
