    And even if he legally was a a traitor, considering the current US Admin and his immense wealth, he'd probably never go to court. Justice isn't blind.

    Imo, " most people" simply don't want to know. Denial is a human condition, and it doesn't have an age, education or colour.

    Destruction of the US shouldn't be a goal. It's especially the current US Gvment and their zealous crazy ideology that is the enemy, if you ask me. Same one as some other well-known sickly "empires'. And it didn't just happen overnight or in 2025, there were many signs before that.

  • Imo we need t watch out not to be dragged into their lunacy. Simultaneously, (foreign) actors continuously try to erode (European) democracy within and without. We need to protect our democratic institutions & human rights in a way that doesn't entail loosing those same core values we want to protect. Thats a tight line to walk,so we all must remain vigilant, and not take anything for granted.

  • They have been and are regulating lobbygroups as well. Afaik corruption does happen, but it's rare.

    Add: Just found it. Since sept 2025 we have this EU Transparency Register.

    The Transparency register is a database listing ‘interest representatives’ (organisations, associations, groups and self-employed individuals) who carry out activities to influence the EU policy and decision-making process.

  • Tbh, if look at European History from a certain perspective; one could argue that Western-Europe was the US sector and Eastern-Europe was the USSR sector. I mean even Western-Germamy was divided in 3 Allied sectors.

    There was no real Europe post WW2, France apperantly being an exception, perhaps?. All other smaller nations, have been doing a balancing act. It took decades to rebuild and to form ECCS, EEC, EC, and finally, the EU. Now after 80 years there is "a Europe" and a developing real European Identity under it's ca. 450 million populace.

    The U.K. had always this special relation with the US, as do some other Nothern European countries like The Netherlands ( New York was New Amsterdam). The French used to have Louisiana and other regions,, so in a sense there should be a connection too. But somehow the special relation has always been with Canada (Quebec). Generally speaking Canada seems imo more culturally aligned to Europe.

    Then again, USA has gone so completely off road and off the normalcy charts that it's become completely unrecognisable. But this US "Maga trend" started imo already many decades ago. Now it's undeniable.

  • Yeah that's what people have told me. But I never understood it either. Afaik there are 4 variants, but when you get stung by a certain other kind of one of the variants can cause complications iirc.
