  • Appreciate this. I'll read whatever is going thru others' minds. It's kind of like parallel play, just "hearing" other people talk about what's got their attention atm

  • So, there needs to be a concerted effort to flood the interwebs with AI produced Rule 34 of the corporate officers and politicians. Especially doing each other. That might get their fucking attention.

  • I'm going to strongly recommend Chef John' videos, and his recipes are on Allrecipes.com The guy is real, and he cooks the way I like to. His recipes are bomb, and he's dad-joke funny.

  • I did not mean to imply the cessation of public spending was causal, just indicative. First ran across it studying mesoamerican civilizations, but I think there are academic papers about Eurasian examples as well. Usually the cause is periodic shifts in rainfall patterns, or other environmental factors. This is an ok place to start, but I would have some work to dig up the textbook. https://www.oerproject.com/OER-Materials/OER-Media/HTML-Articles/Origins/Unit5/Cycles-of-Collapse-in-Mesoamerica

    Edit: here's a good paper: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/00420980221105418

  • In archaeology, you can peg the beginning of an empire's end when it stops building public architecture, whether it's art or infrastructure (equal to spending on the public). Once the government stops giving back to the populace, it's over.

Separate and complex discussion defining "empire" in archaeology without written records, so I am just referring to a particular geographic center exerting cultural and economic influence on its neighbors.

Stop public spending. People move out. Economy declines. Some other political center rises to prominence.

Obviously there are a ton of other factors affecting this, but it's a broad-brush pattern seen repeated over thousands of years.

  • I have never heard anyone hate on Minnesota, and I think it sounds like a great place to live.

Also, I do not consume nazi controlled media.

  • Of course not. I would never do such a thing.

  • This person evils

  • It literally gives me a migraine how people equate criticism of a government with racism, and think they aren't themselves the racists.

  • See? And then when I say humanity deserves to go extinct, I have a "sad outlook" or I am "pessimistic"

    Fucks sake, man.

  • The word "privelege" literally translates as "private law," and it means the moneyed class has a different set of laws than you and I. And it's always been that way.

  • Ok, that was funny

  • Rock hammers. For, uh...reasons.

Also, as others have mentioned, clothes sets. Work wear is not what I wear on my own time, including shoes. But I could just wear one set (either work or casual) and I don't think anyone would care.

  • So, not Chalupa Batman? At least Taco didn't get to name your kid.

  • What a fantastic frame.

"It was at this moment when he realized he had fucked all the way up."

  • Never. And don't ever let anyone tell you so.

What's the point of being an adult if you don't get to act childish?

But seriously, if something harmless brings you joy, embrace it.

  • I would like to ask the federal courts to end texas judges nationwide.

  • I mean...

So do I, and it's a selling point, imo.

  • Some lemmings just wamt to watch the world burn.
