Here's where I'd put my pronouns IF I HAD ANY

Software engineer, massive computer science nerd, sucks at video games, lived all across the US. Former conservative turned total leftist.

Trying out the name Hope.

  • I don't know enough about eyeballs to be able to answer, but 5 leagues is a bit more than 5x farther than eagles can see, and eagles already have larger pupils than humans do.

  • I like to think of myself as what would happen if a man and a woman had a baby.

  • Very few roads in California have tolls.

  • Idk, seems true to me. My phone died during a Twenty One Pilots concert at TD Garden during the part where we're supposed to shine our phone lights and I was forced to stay an extra half-hour.

  • They could work for a company that requires remote coding environments.

  • SSNs are not reissued after death and never have been. I've been seeing a lot of people comment this, but I'm not sure where they're getting it from. (They're not unique for other reasons, however.)

  • Yes.

  • Recently I was told I probably need medication for that fact I'm worried about ten million different things happening right now, but like, surely my fears are entirely rational and justified????

  • Rather than study for my qualifying exams while I was a PhD student, I learned to blj.

I actually did really well, but then crashed and burned horribly at everything else.

  • If you zoom in on the spine, it is not at all separated from the hardcover. To me this implies she hasn't opened this particular book many times before.

  • This is a real incident ticket I saw:

    Subject: "broken" Description: "website down"

Given that the website was in fact not down, and they included no details, and they must have been filing it on behalf of someone else as their user-id didn't have an account at all (it is an internal corporate product), this was a real head scratcher.

  • Just scrolling through shorts on a given day, I'm usually recommended at least one short by someone infamously hostile to the LGBTQIA+ community. I get that it could be from people with my interests hate-watching, but I don't want to be shown any of it. (Nearly all of my YouTube subscriptions are to LGBTQIA+ creators. I'm not subscribed to anyone who has ever even mentioned support for right leaning policies on anything.)

  • I'm pretty sure Dean Kamen created a canon to launch people into the upper stories of a building. Maybe they could use that.

  • The thing is, you could more or less order that for $5 as late as a year or so ago with some customizations to their other boxes. (Granted, I place no value on the cinnamon twists)

  • It's a reference to a reddit user (https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/1gnxkgd/comment/lweabef/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) who would post these intricate comments with these really engaging stories that would then end with that last paragraph, which describes the events of a 1998 wrestling show where the wrestler The Undertaker threw the wrestler Mankind (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mankind_vs._The_Undertaker) and the type of wrestling match (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_in_a_Cell ).

  • He's been the CEO of UnitedHealth Group for 3 years now. UnitedHealth Care is a subsidiary, their CEO was the one shot. Best I can tell they haven't announced a replacement yet.

  • If it seems small that's because UnitedHealthcare is the insurance arm of UnitedHealth Group, which has its own CEO more in line with the other salaries listed. CVS Health, for example, has Aetna and other insurance arms under it, and the CEO listed was the (former) CEO of that top level company.

  • Felt it like a hundred miles inland too. Really deep slow rumbles here.

  • It was a quote from the TV show Scrubs about Arnold Palmer.
