  • In 10-20 years Microsoft may finally reach a point Windows finally gets a package manager with a well-defined package format, auto update, atomic transactions, just a few decades after Linux.

  • An infinite loop canot be ruled out in the last case, so a compiler couldn't optimize this away without potentially changing the program behavior.

  • ISDS bullshit, again.

  • The compiler will optimize it anyway. /s

  • I bet that makes you want to curse in sweedish.

  • Hungary leaving the EU may not be the best outcome. I fear they would become like Belarus, a proxy for Russia's hybrid warfare, for instance weaponizing migrants to cause havoc at the border, allow them to operate jammer and drone operation from their terrirory.

  • Sauroposeidon One of the tallest animals to walk on Earth. It had a neck six times longer than a giraffe's and ate half a ton of plant matter per day.

Wait, is he making this up?

The illustration looks insane, how could that animal stand upright!?

  • Name the fonction after a war criminal.

  • Thanks.

Whoever cropped the author or artist signature should whip him/herself.

  • Yes, there are nationalists events in nearly every country with big pictures of their leader, with varying prevalence and level of acceptance. In DPRK this is imposed. In some places that's normalized, but not imposed. In other places that's fringe and considered unhealthy level of adoration, and openly mocked, as it should be.

  • The monachy in the UK has the decorum but basically none of the power.

It's fair and even fun to mock the UK monarchy decorum, but there's no comparison between UK and DPRK in term of power held by the leader, and the level of totalitarism. The comparison in the post's image is so ludicrous, I seriously wonder if that's trolling, it's hard to imagine someone really believing that while being outside of North Korea and having free access to information.

There are opposition groups and even an anti-monarchy group in the UK and their members don't end up in prison camp for not being loyal to the royal family.

  • Both are display of nationalism.

Those two nations have very different political systems. One of the pictures include a large display to the glory of dear leader.

  • If they sell 2 variants of the Steam Machine, they could remove HDMI from one , and just put it in the more expensive variant, to reflect the extra headaches and cost that comes from HDMI.

That'd encourage people to get screens with DisplayPort. Many computer screens have DP.

  • Or even better, drop HDMI support in favor of displayport

  • I mostly agree. But would be more nuanced regarding Github Advanced Security.

Most features grouped under "Advanced Security" looks quite useful https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/learning-about-github/about-github-advanced-security Sadly Microsoft has to sneak copilot in there, but the rest of it looks good.

It's probably possible to get most of these features while avoiding copilot by staying away from Github. There are other code hosting platforms, and most support CI pipelines. Scans can be added to pipelines even if those platforms don't support scans out of the box.

  • A toggle would be good.

Cars with automatic gears are more efficient than manual ones. I fear a fake manual gear system would decrease efficiency, so it may be best to disable it.
