France's example is striking (pun not intended). People want to be able to consume more, to travel by train and go on vacation. They fall in the trap of blaming the unions whenever there is a strike or shops close on Sunday or for holidays. Then, they work those days to make more money and be able to buy more. They willingly give up the rights that have been wrestled by previous generations from business owners. Then it will be like the US and they will be sorry but too late...
I think maybe both objectives can be saught after simultaneously. Lidl's parent company is starting to sell business cloud services in Europe. The private market, if protected, can fill the gap for sovereign European cloud services.
Not sure about the industrial part of the equation though.
You can stop buying cars and rennt them instead. The electronic clusterfuck spaghetti is not your problem anymore.
You still get all your data harvested and sold to the highest bidder though.
It seems to me that the future of electric mobillity is more car renting/leasing than car ownership. Servicing will be included in the monthly payment and you won't have to service it yourself
