  • Middle out

  • Heliostats seem to be getting popular on large solar farms. You could use them to stow the panels upright to avoid damage in these circumstances.

  • Losing this war is going to get us into a world war.

  • Seems like this is a much more important than any of the other discussions going on. How many results were tainted by the fact that they were compressing a dithered print image.

  • And beyond safety banning for obnoxious destruction of the peace.

  • Any ...ism devolves if unchecked.

  • That is getting really hard to do. Seems like someone could make a market in controllers that replace the factory ones but hook to the factory sensors.

  • But they do. The only constant is change.

  • You can find out the event from the news, but then get the facts from industry experts. It's much better these days.

  • Everything, over time, becomes entropy.

  • Couldn't states go after companies under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act instead of writing new state legislation.

  • Oregon has some really great laws. Some are working well, some need adjustment.

    In this case I think manufacturers will just say "not for sale in Oregon" and people in Oregon will continue to buy them. California had an advantage with it's huge market size.

  • Capitalism != Unbridled_capitalism;

  • There are lots of loyal green customers who are really pissed about the ability to not be able to repair their own stuff, but yet keep buying it. (Similar to a lot of iPhone users)

  • So much of Lemmy is this way, and I guess most of social media. I expected more from the Lemmy crowd.

  • Compared to other countries our risk is pretty low. Does the risk of a SLAPP keep you from reviewing a restaurant? In Portugal people that have been scammed out of money on non-existent rentals are scared to me names because of the very real risk of criminal prosecution.

  • You don't find this kind of criminal prosecution or civil actions in the US.

  • won't companies respond by just saying "not for sale in Oregon? "
