  • I made a very minor edit once that was perfectly legitimate and corrected an error. It was immediately reverted, ensuring I’d never donate so much a $0.01 to Wikimedia. Probably over 20 years ago now.

    I hope it has turned around since then and that OP’s words and effort aren’t in vain. I’ll never know.

    I started using Linux when it was Redhat, in the 1990s, and it came on a bunch of CDs.

    And I use WSL in addition to Debian, Raspbian, and Ubuntu.

  • There was a scene in some horror movie like that but it was ghost fingers on boob(s) because otherwise it would have been x rated.

    I don’t remember the name of the movie, just that it was supposedly a fictionalized account of a true story and it ended with text that said basically that the attacks, while less common, continue to happen to this day. The topic of the movie was that this woman would get raped by a ghost.

    This had to be an 80s or at most early 90s movie. Probably 80s, as I wasn’t an adult at the time.

    I don’t particularly want to remember the name of it.

  • Yup it's mostly bullshit. Someone, somewhere might benefit, but certainly not any of the people within two thousands miles of where the rich guy lived. Which is still better than nothing, but Bill Gates could end homelessness in America immediately if he chose to do so. (I'm not saying it would be easy or fast, just that he has the money to make it happen.) He could make ALL COLLEGE FREE for students. Musk could have too, likely for less than he spent on Twitter.

    I promise you, there’s very little chance you caused your parents to divorce.

    Here are the ways that you could have done so.

    1. You were an affair baby. Still not your fault.
    2. You have extreme special needs, in which case you probably wouldn’t be able to post this.
    3. You murdered one or more siblings and your parents couldn’t deal with it.
    4. One of your parents caused your death and you’re somehow posting from beyond the grave.

    What I’m getting at is that it’s technically possible you were what drove them apart, but it’s also highly unlikely.

    I know the feeling though: “If I’d just been better I’d still have my happy family.” I know.

    It’s a lie. It’s the feeling of loss and your brain desperately grasping at how it could have been prevented.

    You might consider talking to a qualified professional about these feelings because they are legitimate and reasonable and wrong at the same time. Best of luck.
